Started Out Great, But…

I saw a YouTube review of this, and came here, read the reviews, asked lots of questions.

I grabbed the highest tier to make sure I can use it among my businesses, personal and joint/family finances. It started out great, but the more I use it, the more it seems to break.
1) I put in my country and tax codes (non-US), expecting it to use them by default. 50% of my scanned receipts come out with USD conversion even though none of them are in USD. So I have to go in and edit every single one of these to my default currency.
2) After I edit transactions to my currency, when I go back, it reverts to USD again. Such a waste of time!
3) when I edit, I have to go in and click a button to choose my Tax Code, even though I already set it as default, and it is clear on the receipt what the tax code is. Another time waster. Why can’t it use my default tax code? Also, why do I have to click another button to view/edit my tax code? It should just show it on the same page.
4) I noticed in the last 2 days, receipts I have edited and tagged revert back to what they were before I edited them. Some of them have the dates changed. Can’t there be a setting so it knows I already edited/processed it?
5) when editing, there should be a button to ‘save’ so I know it saves my edits. Right now, I have to back out and back in again (2 clicks) to check if it actually saved it.

Overall, this WAS promising. But it seems to be getting worse. Things like localization, default currency, tax code show as completed in the roadmap. But it’s not working, not anymore.

I’ll give it another month, but if it doesn’t get better, I’m refunding.

Hi Simbella,

Thanks for your review. Could you please email me with your account details so I could check if there are any logs about your issues? Especially your failures with record edits concern me, as this is the first I've heard of such problems.

I've also seen that lately the GPT model from OpenAI has sometimes been overly confident about the USD currency even if the preferred currency is something else. Basically, when there is a "$" sign, it can mean one of the many dollar currencies in the world, and the AI weights in many things (including addresses) when considering which one to pick. Always preferring the default currency is problematic, since e.g. Canadians can have many US$ expenses. It is weighted heavily toward the default, but since the latest model update this has been more flaky for some reason. Thanks for the report, I will take extra care to test this more and improve AI instructions to see if it helps.

Regarding the save, there is a timestamp of latest successful save in the bottom right corner of the web application. Next to it is also a button that shows a sidebar with recent edits (other than the edits done at record creation). There are plans for a better locking / unlocking mechanism of the document details, which would then involve a dedicated save button.

But please be in touch so we can look at this together.

Best wishes,
Antti
