Over the years, I have bought over 100 products on AppSumo, including several TTS software, some of which are really good. Then why purchase this one?
Because it offered a custom avatar with a cloned voice for a little over 300$ on a Tier 3. I figured that, if I was not satisfied, I could just refund it.
I was always interested in custom avatars and cloned voices, but it usually costs a lot, with no possibility of getting a reimbursement if you are not satisfied. And with the state of this nascent technology, my past experiences were quite disapointing.
So, I gave it a try...
And wow!
In less than 5 days, I got a high-quality avatar of myself that can lipsync quite realistically any text that I put in in any of the 140+ languages offered by the system.
But having an avatar of myself speaking in a voice that is not mine is not very useful, right? SpiritMe also cloned my voice and, while it is far from perfect, it is still quite impressive.
You have to know something: I am from Québec and my mother tongue is French. My cloned voice sounds like I was raised in France: not the right accent for me. The fantastic thing, though, is that the cloned voice really sounds like me when speaking in English or Spanish!
As I teach in both French and English, SpiritMe will help me get the English-speaking versions of my courses out the door much faster.
And the support has been fantastic. Very responsive, knowledgeable and caring.
I rarely have the time to post a review on AppSumo, but I wanted all of you Sumolings to know before it is too late that this is a serious offer.
I will certainly not ask for a refund on this one!
