We looked at quite a few entry-level and no-code e-commerce solutions already but never got excited. That changed last weekend, when we had a look at SpreadSimple, just before the LTD expired on AppSumo. Good we did!

SpreadSimple proofs to be a valuable tool to build simple, but effective list-based web sites and web stores right "on top of" a Google Sheet. Everything works as expected, and in less than 30 minutes we had our first store up and running. The tutorial on how to use webhooks and a free Integromat account to set up a super flexible and we tailored an order fulfilment flow in Trello was an eye-opener. The out-of-the-box integrations are further expanding the possibilities of this SpreadSimple ( looking forward today to test the WhatsApp integration, to name one).

I would love a few more theme enhancements and a bit more flexibility to make adjustments myself without diving into CSS, but the start is good, and the email I got with so many new features this week shows the developers are working hard to grow this product. Support was excellent too: fast, to the point.

Does this replace Shopify and Big Commerce? Of course not. But it enables people with a good idea to launch fast, learn and improve, find out what works for them, focus on getting their marketing right and avoid the complexities that come with more professional solutions until they are ready for it. All crucial ad-ons are there: analytics, social media, EDM, enough to keep a starting merchant happy. Even Google Shopping coming soon.

Within a week we saw new businesses with great growth potential approaching us. And we see departments within existing clients approach us with things the like to test. So yes, we quickly bought a few extra codes.

BTW, looks like this can be well combined with Swipe Pages: build a great landing page with Swipe Pages, and handle the e-commerce part with SpreadSimple.
Talking about that: SpreadSimple will become even more useful when they add the ability to assign a store to a different client and give that client access just to that store(s), look how Swipe Pages handles that.
