A Swiss Army Knife for Website Development
Google Sheets allows you to do so much on its own... But when it comes to bridging the gap between Google Sheets and things like a website, I've never seen a solution easier to work with than SpreadSimple.
I've built an affiliate marketplace (AppSumo like a marketplace) with the tool as well as the basics behind a business directory, an acuity calendar replacement, and even an e-commerce widget. I plan to also build a review widget for displaying reviews submitted via a google form. The opportunities are endless for this tool and you can now stack it up to 500 sites - making it valuable for those looking to take advantage of all the opportunities.
The biggest negative of the tool would be its limitations in certain areas... most notably the design elements - which look fantastic but have little customization. I imagine most of my use will be using it more as a "widget" on websites (they have an embeddable HTML widget that works perfectly).
An amazing and underappreciated feature is the ability to easily duplicate a site - making it very easy to work FAST and efficiently. Especially if selling these as "widgets" on your client sites or making multiple affiliate sites with the same template design.
I think the e-commerce tools are only good for the most basic of use cases. Similar to SwipePages, there just aren't many "advanced" options available, and neither holds a stick to Gigrove (which lacks design elements but has an amazing back-end).
I'd like to see the ability to send multiple emails when an order is placed, a better understanding of inventory management, and more tutorials specific to getting the most out of SpreadSimple with Google Sheets. This tool has helped me learn Google Sheets and make videos on my experiences to help others, but there is a lot of time that goes into "figuring out" all the formulas - if you don't have great levels of experience working within Google Sheets.
Fantastic tool - 5 tacos all the way for me HOWEVER I do think this has its limitations and should not be used in many circumstances. With that said, it is a swiss army knife for website development and has helped me make e-commerce accessible for non-technical clients. I build the workflows + automation and train them on a few things and they can monitor and update their site without any complex issues. If you have any local clients this will likely come in handy for those not ready for a "serious" e-commerce solution but those who still want to sell online.
