Great product, loads of potential
Stackby is has bags of potential. It's UI is very close to that of Airtable (and that isn't a criticism) and the flexibility it offers is immense.
Even though it shares a lot of similarities to Airtable it really carves a strong point of difference in the API connections and integration. Whereas Airtable relies on standard Zapier integrations and Google Calendar etc. which are more simplistic, Stackby enables API integrations per record and per column. For example, you can connect Serpstat on a range of keywords and pull live data on from Serpstat on volumes etc in multiple columns. Maybe that isn't the best example, but it helps to show how the API integration in Stackby outperforms that of Airtable which is far more basic and on a per row basis.
The interface with Stackby is fantastic, again, it borrows from the strengths of Airtable and enables lots of filtering options and calculations, formulas etc. However, it does need to play catchup in a few areas. For example, you cannot currently group by a field (clustering data into groups) in grid view. You also cannot use linked records to group the Kanban view. Gantt view is also lacking and needed. However, this is a young product and lacks the resources (currently) of a mature product like Airtable, so, the usability, UI and functionality is pretty amazing as it is.
Even though there have been some complaints, I have found the deal to have generous limits (even though I would love more users for less stacking). Plus, the Stackby team have been listening, responding and reacting to help improve both the deal and the product itself.
Support is good and. I have received pretty instant support whenever I have had a query, which practically guaranteed my purchase. Also, since the product first appeared on Appsumo Zapier integration has already been introduced. This is not mean feat as Zapier integration is a good deal of work.
My only regret in purchasing is that I couldn't stretch to buy more codes and enable more users. If you are able to stack, I would take the opportunity as I really think that this product is here to stay and will eventually eclipse Airtable in value and functionality. That's a pretty big recommendation!

May 9, 2024Hi there,
Thanks for the review. Well, it's already a big deal for us if you're comparing us to a mature product like AT. However, we're trying to create our own niche with the API first approach and enabling more use-cases that will close the loop - plan, manage and automate, in a single place.
We've a strong roadmap laid out, dictated by the community and we're enabling newer features faster than ever and really solidifying the core of the product + UX.
Really appreciate you taking the time and reviewing, means a lot to us.
