What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?
I initially began with simple proxies built using Google and AWS, using EC2 instances with Squid scripts. It worked great until sneaker websites upgraded their antibot measures. However, this success allowed me to build capital and evolve into creating my own infrastructure, starting with datacenter proxies and then transitioning to ISP-hosted proxies. Eventually, my company Dash Proxies merged into Stat Proxies, where we now focus extensively on solutions for all different types of use cases.
What’s the origin of the idea for your product?
The idea originated from needing reliable proxies for sneaker reselling. Over time, as antibot technologies advanced, I saw the opportunity to provide robust, ethically-sourced ISP proxies that serve broader applications beyond sneakers, particularly web scraping and automation.
Why are you passionate about your product?
I’m passionate because our proxies solve critical operational challenges—enabling data-driven companies to perform essential tasks without interruption. It's exciting to provide stable, ethically-sourced IP addresses that make our clients' processes smooth and reliable.
What problem is your product solving and how?
Stat Proxies solves the problem of IP blocks and detection during web scraping and automation tasks. Our ISP proxies provide datacenter-like speeds combined with residential proxy anonymity, offering unlimited bandwidth and improved stealth capabilities.
What sets it apart from the rest in your space? Our ISP proxies uniquely combine unlimited bandwidth and residential-level stealth with datacenter speeds. We ethically source our IP addresses through partnerships with ISPs, ensuring transparency and reliability, which sets us apart from networks using unwitting residential users’ IPs.
What’s the #1 thing you’re looking to gain from the AppSumo campaign?
Primarily, we're looking for feedback and virality. Understanding how diverse users apply our proxies can help us fine-tune our offerings and potentially open new market segments.
What are your plans with the customers, cash, and learnings from the AppSumo campaign?
We plan to reinvest the funds into further enhancing our infrastructure, supporting more integrations (like SOCKS5), and potentially launching new locations. Customer feedback will directly guide these future developments.
What's next on the horizon if you achieve what you're looking to gain from the campaign? We’re planning to introduce VPS services specifically optimized to pair seamlessly with our proxies, alongside implementing support for the SOCKS5 protocol, enhancing compatibility and user flexibility.
Are there countries your product doesn’t support or specifically targets? Our proxies primarily target users in North America and Europe but are usable globally, with optimal performance in the U.S.
Anything else you'd like to add?
We take pride in ethically sourcing our proxies, transparently working with ISP partners, distinguishing us from many residential proxy networks.
