I like this. I like it a lot
I have spent that last year being mentored by my friend in value investing. He is just a genius in many ways, but the stock market/Value Investing is his forte. He makes so much money that you wouldn't believe me.
Anyway, I am a newbie but have learned a lot and right off the bat this software gives me so much initial insight. Everything is laid out nicely, the site is quick and well thought out. I own like 6 different investing platforms and this one is the smoothest. I am writing this on the 1st day that I have opened it and right away the usefulness hit me like a brick in the face. I love that you can make a ticker out of your own investments by indicating that something is in your portfolio. Love it.
So, get it, I think you will be happy. Keep in mind I am not yet a ninja, but this is so wonderful for what I use it for, that it is a no brainer.

Needs Improvement: Confusing and Hard to Trust for Beginners
I’ve used many stock-picking tools, including, including Tykr, which I still find helpful. Recently, I decided to give Sterling Stock Picker a try, as it caught my attention through what seems to have been a lot of paid press releases. However, despite the marketing push, it doesn’t seem to have a large user base, which made me a bit skeptical from the start.
After using it for some time, I have mixed feelings, and there are a number of areas where this tool could significantly improve.
What I did not like and why I rated it 1/5 stars:
Video Resources Are Lacking (Lost 1st Star):
Their educational videos are not made available on more accessible public platforms like YouTube, and they’re very short, unclear, and lack detail. For someone new to stock analysis, these videos will be of little to no help. They merely feature narrated content without on-screen demonstrations, which feels more like listening to an AI chatbot rather than a helpful tutorial.
Simply put, the videos are not designed to help a beginner understand the tool.
Too Many Charts & Indicators Without Clear Guidance (Lost 2nd Star):
The platform includes many charts and indicators, which might seem like a good thing for experienced users. However, for a beginner, these features quickly feel overwhelming and, honestly, useless without sufficient explanation. Even after watching their videos, I struggled to make sense of most of the charts. It would be helpful if they simplified the interface or provided beginner-friendly tutorials.
Confusing and Contradictory Stock Advice (Lost 3rd Star):
I tested the platform using NVDA (NVIDIA) stock as an example, and this is where Sterling Stock Picker really lost credibility. The Insider Activity indicator showed that 87% of insiders were selling this stock, implying that it’s a sell. However, the "Analyst Recommendation Trends" suggested quite the opposite, with 47% of analysts recommending buying the stock, and another 12% strongly recommending it to buy. This kind of contradictory advice makes the platform feel unreliable like it’s encouraging users to gamble rather than make informed decisions.
Paid Press Releases & Lack of Transparency (Lost 4th Star):
From what I’ve observed, Sterling Stock Picker seems to rely heavily on paid press releases to generate buzz. For example, an article in Forbes that promoted the platform has since been removed, which gives me the impression that there’s a lack of credibility. This also raises questions about the authenticity of other positive reviews, like the ones on AppSumo, as they may also be incentivized or paid.
Final Thoughts:
At this point, I’m continuing to explore the platform for a few more days before deciding if I should request a refund. My initial experience with Sterling Stock Picker has been frustrating. The lack of clear instructional resources, the overwhelming and confusing charts, and the contradictory stock advice make it difficult to trust this tool.
If you’re someone new to investing and looking for accessible tools to help you learn and grow, I wouldn’t recommend Sterling Stock Picker in its current state. For now, I’m sticking to other platforms that have consistently delivered better results.

Super impressed
I have only had an initial look around this investment tool, but I have to say right off the bat that I am very impressed. This isn't some half-baked, thrown-together piece of software. It is clearly incredibly thought out, has an attractive layout, is feature-packed, and seems to have first-class training resources.
I went through the risk assessment, which was spot-on. I had a look at some of the stock picking tools, such as Stock Rockets, and was well impressed, and I was totally blown away by Finley, the AI chatbot. I was expecting to get some half-baked answers back, but instead I got back answers that were incredibly insightful, and when I asked follow-up questions, it was referring back to information I had given in previous answers. That is going to be more useful than my current financial advisor, as Finley seems to actually know what he is talking about.
I am looking forward to doing a much deeper dive over the coming days, as I feel this is a tool that I could really find fits in with my overall financial strategy.
Thanks for bringing it to Appsumo.

Sterling is a good program to balance out my stock portfolio 📈 and suggest other winners! 🌟
I like the fact that it has most of the US and Canada stocks listed, but there were a few small stocks I own that did not show up on the list 😕, which is not a big problem as I know their focus is on good stocks, not junk you picked up arriving here 🚫. The focus is picking well-rated stocks to balance your portfolio, not penny stocks 💰. Sterling suggests stocks that TYKR also rates as fairly excellent value plays ⭐️. I have bought a lot of programs off of AppSumo, and some tools I have used little, but Sterling Stock Picker I think will be my go-to play with TYKR 🤖. It is the weekend and the markets are closed ⏰, but I added most of my portfolio and it suggested I sell a play I was thinking about lightening up on 💸. It also suggested I add growth stocks as I had none 🌱. I asked Sterlings Finley AI which stocks it would recommend and it did not tell me 😶, but it said they were low-risk 🚦. Sterling has lots of excellent suggestions for low-risk plays 🏦, so I'll probably just start adding from now on from the recommendations, rather than just using my gut and blind picks 🙈. I like tools that do all the hard research and find value plays with good book value that is likely to fly in the future 🚀. Whether you are for high-risk, or low-risk plays 🏄♂️, Sterling has you covered and I look forward to their success and hope to use this tool for many years ✨. The site is fairly well laid out 👌. The only thing I would suggest for an improvement is a toggle to list Canadian plays or US Stocks 🇨🇦🇺🇸. I use Wealthsimple and pay no fees on Canadian plays 💸. Also, it would be good in the portfolio overview for (Base) (Growth), and (Accelerate) 🔄. I wish it would suggest stocks to add to balance the portfolio 📊. It does suggest how much money I need to add to Growth, Base (Dividend-paying stocks), and subtract from Accel for a balanced portfolio ⚖️. My investing travels so far have been simply picking up some stocks when I have the cash 💵, now I can see if it is balanced with Sterling 🤔. I also like that I can get email reminders when targets are met for buying or selling 📧. 2025 is set to be a better year for investing for me with this Sterling tool 🌟 and I have already done well last year 🎉. For the lifetime price, this tool does a lot and I like how the AI suggests buying points and selling points 📈📉. Will learn more and grow in their community, but wanted to leave the first review 📝.
