it’s been quite the rollercoaster

I've been using Steve AI for quite a while, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the rollercoaster. One moment I'm thrilled, the next I'm frustrated. Since I purchased my Tier 1 subscription, there have been numerous changes—some positive, others not so much. However, I genuinely believe they are now delivering a solid product. After navigating through various trials and errors with their available features, I can now create high-quality explanatory videos for myself and my clients. Whenever I need a well-crafted 5-minute video that presents information from a unique perspective, I’m confident that Steve AI will deliver.

Right now, I’m focusing on what works and leveraging their offerings without getting caught up in past promises. For those with a Tier 1 subscription offering 18,000 seconds per month (or 300 minutes), that's more than enough time to create content with minimal effort. Today, I can honestly say I'm satisfied, and they have earned my five tacos!

A Masterclass in Deceptive Marketing and Breach of Contract

I’ve been a loyal AppSumo customer for years, but my experience with **Steve.AI** has been nothing short of a nightmare. If you are considering any purchase from this company, take my advice: **run.**

### The "Future Pro Features" Lie and LTD deception.

When I purchased the Tier-1 Pro account, the terms were crystal clear (they are still still listed on AppSumo - check them before they get removed): **"all future Pro features will be included"**. This is a standard promise for LTDs, intended to build trust with early adopters. However, with the release of Steve AI new release, the company unilaterally decided that their new Generative AI features, the very core of the "Pro" evolution, would not be granted to lifetime users.

### A Month of Gaslighting and Incompetence

I opened a support ticket on January 2nd, 2026, because the new features visible on the Free Tier were missing from my paid account. What followed was three weeks of the most unprofessional "support" I have ever encountered:

**Empty Promises:** I was told multiple times that my account was being "updated" or that the team was "working on it". Each time I logged in, absolutely nothing had changed.

**The "Logout/Login" Loop:** Even after weeks of waiting, support agents (Kishore and Bala) kept suggesting I simply "log out and log back in" as if I hadn't tried that dozens of times.

**Zero Accountability:** They requested full access to my account, which I granted, yet they still failed to resolve the issue or provide an ETA.

### The Bait-and-Switch Revealed

The most offensive part of this ordeal came on January 24th. After weeks of stalling, Kishore finally admitted the truth: the company believes "AI tools are just for our Pro plan users" who pay a recurring subscription, and they are **"unable to add that"** to lifetime accounts.

Wait, what? I *am* a Pro plan user. That is exactly what I bought.

To make matters worse, they claimed they were "honoring" the terms while simultaneously **revoking those very terms** from the AppSumo page to cover their tracks. They tried to "appease" me by offering 3D Generative AI credits, a feature I already had, while still withholding the new capabilities promised in my contract.

### Final Verdict: A Company Without Integrity

Steve.AI has demonstrated a total failure to honor its legal and ethical obligations to its customers. They are happy to take your money upfront but will leave you behind the moment they release a significant update.

I have already informed them that I will be reporting this as a scam to AppSumo and Product Hunt. Do not trust their "Lifetime" promises; they are only "Lifetime" until they decide they want more money from you.

**Pros:** None anymore.
**Cons:** Breach of contract, deceptive marketing, incompetent support, and a total lack of corporate integrity.

Worst customer service Response ever

(To get to the point look at the bottom paragraph) I have been with them for several years and always taken the time to share feedback and issues back and forth with them to the point some of their developers and staff would reach out and actively ask me how the new features where working out and for feedback and ideas. I even had a zoom type call with their staff previously per their request on brainstorming ideas.

The new Platform style has way more limitations then their previous versions but I can look past it.
What I can't look past it their recent change in the way they handle customer service. It was a saving grace before and made things bearable not anymore.
They recently launched "new features" but excluded LTD customers. They bombarded my emails for a few weeks about these new features and how to get on some learning video etc.
When on their "launch day" I found the features missing I reached out to their support thinking it might be a simple bug because lets face it may be they were doing the roll out in phases.

They started by not stating since I don't pay monthly not to expect access and if I wanted it to expect to pay.

When I questioned if the monthly paying customers get access they stated those customers do but AppSumo customers do not.

When I brought up the fact that we as LTD customers get access to all updates I was immediately faced with an abrasive answer claiming AppSumo had told customers of changes and they will not be providing the updates. They then said to buy directly from them.

Let me be clear:
- AppSumo never did send out this mythical notice (They are pretty good at sending emails but additionally I checked out the page and sure enough no updates where there either)

When I questioned Steve.AI about this purchase they stated I should make they stated to cancel my plan with AppSumo if I didn't like it but that AppSumo would have more details. So far from communicating with AppSumo Steve.AI is claiming that the new features are a 3rd party feature so will not be included but in the email from Steve.AI they never claim that and additionally state all Gen AI features are excluded from LTD customers.

HERE IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM:
Their entire platform at this point is all powered by their new Gen AI system. Meaning if LTD is being excluded you can basically look at but NOT touch anything because everything uses Gen AI on their platform now since the recent update. That or you would get the equivalent of low quality free assets from other sites that don't match a video you try to create. They also locked away features like audio to video to yet again Monthly subscribers. this one isn't even a new feature so it makes no sense.
I Understand AppSumo can't refund me the money (that I can sit ok with because its been a bit) but I cannot and will not be ok with Steve.AI effectively breaching their agreement and making the platform so dependent on their new Gen AI (which LTD is excluded from) that it makes it worthless for the LTD customers/investors.
But AppSumo is going to also not escape some scrutiny. When asked to intervene the final response was basically "They told us they can't afford to include it for LTD 🤷‍♂️ so here's why you should understand..."
No that is not the deal. They promised and Committed themselves to giving us access to new features what you need to do is send an email to all their LTD customers saying "We been informed of XYZ", apologize and make it clear it's not your fault (save face before others ask what you are doing or not doing about it) and possibly send a coupon for like an additional 10-15% off the next purchase on the AppSumo Platform. Additionally place any current or future products from this company or any of their creators on a alert system stating they had these types of issues in the past.
A Badge of Dishonor or at least a Badge to let people know there has been issues with their previous products.

One of the worst LTD ever ! PURE SCAM

If I could give 0 tacos, I would have. Unfortunately, the minimum is one.

I bought this plan (Tier 2) with a lot of confidence, as I am rarely disappointed by the deals I find on the Appsumo platform. Now it's so disapointing in terms of generation quality compared to modern AI video generation platforms that it is absolutly unsuseful and total scam. It's a shame and an insane disgrace.

I have no choice but to express my disappointment, my dissatisfaction. I almost want to say my anger, so much do I feel like I have been scammed.

With the evolution of AI models in video generation currently underway, notably Google VO3, this software seems completely useless.

Worse, AppSumo buyers absolutely do not have access to Steve AI's updates. And it seems that the platform remains stuck on old models and outdated generation algorithms, completely obsolete and useless.

The promise made in the AppSumo LTD offer, claiming that we had access to all future updates, is a lie.

I contacted Steve AI support and was told that I had to create a new account and abandon my AppSumo LTD account if I wanted access to the latest product features. A disgrace and a total scam!

Redirecting to registration page

I am unable to login to the app and it is Redirecting to registration page. Reached out to support multiple times and no response. Tried reaching out to Appsumo. They have looped in steve team and there is no response.

After 3-4 follow-ups Appsumo stopped responding to mails too.

Money lost and I think it is a scam
