Q: Update: Today a received a long email from Alex Pan...
...here is a short and sarcastic summary version of it (By the way: Yes, in the original email Alex Pan compares Storipress to buying a TV at Costco. Really).
"Great news! If you were one of the lucky ones who bought Storipress on Black Friday, you can get a refund in AppSumo credits. Everyone else, tough luck!
Apparently, buying an LTD is like buying a TV from Costco, so take it up with AppSumo. Storipress is dead because we couldn't make money, but hey, we didn't scam you—promise fulfilled!
Oh, and don't worry, we’re definitely not transferring assets to dodge our obligations because that would be illegal (and we don’t want lawsuits). Well, Storipress Prophet has nothing to do with Storipress, except that it’s called Storipress, and maybe a little bit almost everything.
Q: I see Storipress is not long for this world. Anything someone can recommend that is similar?
I really like how finished the site looked with Storipress. I am hoping someone can recommend something similar. Also liked the way contributors worked. I wish there were a new Storipress spooling up. I don't even need the AI features at all.
Unfortunately for us, Storipress is just a sunk cost now... Maybe you'd be willing to give Quick Creator (leaving soon) a shot. Tony, the founder, is actively engaging with users in the Q&A section. The SaaS looks different. There's been frequent updates lately. Tier 3 and 4 allow you to BYOK, so basically you get unlimited blog posts, hosting, bandwidth, self hosted websites + custom domains...
Q: Storipress is shutting down.
Another one bites the dust. Shamelessly, another Appsumo-offered product is being shut down. Yes, they are giving 2 months to allow for a transition and yet the reality is that all early investors are losing their money and getting no platform in return. This is getting way to usual. It harms everyone and only benefits those who will rig the game and pocket money for no long term return.
The developers even have the audacity to announce a new product... that they expect to trust after this fiasco.
So to the Storipress team: What is the real reason to shut down and how are your customers going to be duly compensated?
I'm calming down after this shocker announcement. And grateful I didn't invest my precious time as well as losing my $$. One potential saving grace is Storipress mentions working with their investors to open source the codebase for self-hosting. In consideration for them burning my money, them giving me-us the whole sha-bang might soothe a bit, snuff the flame that's burning that team's rep!
Wrong! Storipress is not shutting down, Storipress is shutting down the blog section but offers now Storipress Content Workflow and Storipress Prophet jupping on the AI train and letting the deal buyers down, what about converting the Storipress LTD into Storipress Prophet oor Content Workflow deals, of course not, this is not the first company that uses the deals to finance new actitivies !!!!!!
I think all the deal buyers can do is to value Storipress as app provider in worldwide software rating services as G2 or Gartner, Capterra etc. and let potential buyers know about the company and owners ethics.
I surely will think twice with every further Appsumo purchase.
As you say: "This is getting way to usual".
I am curious if Appsumo will even publish this comment. Critical comments of this kind have repeatedly not been approved by them, and in such cases, I vent my frustration elsewhere. In any case, I will not be censored.
Q: What will happen to our investment, and will there be any compensation for customers?
So, since Storipress is going to cease to exist overnight, did I invest $372 last December for nothing (Tier 3)? I barely tested it, thinking it would be very useful for future projects. I truly feel misled and that I've thrown money out the window, which seems completely disrespectful to customers. Can we hope for financial compensation in light of this situation?

Q: Pricing still available.
Why is Storipress still offer Pricing (https://storipress.com/pricing.html) when they have officially announced their shut down?

I'm just fed up with so many LTD's going away. This is the last straw for us. Lame.
