You Don't Get It - Because You Don't Publish
I am a publisher of magazines, books and other media. If you are an entrepreneur or maybe a marketing company, then I am not surprised why this deal makes no sense. For myself and others, this is a serious piece of kit. Imagine all those online news sites, and you have an idea that you will start your own publication, but Wordpress is too bloated, and Webflow can be too expensive. Then you look at publishing platforms that the big boys use and you nearly choked on your morning Matcha. In your mind the price doesn't matcha. Its as expensive as the Kardashian's ego's.
Now in reality, a well thought out publication for those of you who are in Niche industries can be the difference of making you the thought leader or the dreamer. It can take your media and seo to another level. For those of you who do have publications, this is your chance to compete in the big media field with everything at your disposal to make an impact.
I spent time with Alex, going over the pros and the cons, (Hats off to Alex for the support). Sure, there are a few cons but nothing that can't be fixed. In fact, I am so excited about the storipress that I am moving some of our magazines over and will find other ways of launching new ones and integrating other media.
The flow of your media concept and work for your team is seemless. The integrations need to be worked on, but what is there now is sufficient. You have paywalls and so many more features to increase your media footprint. What is lacking will surely come.
If your dream to build a new publication to support your business or to become that thought leader and collaborate with others, then you would be a fool in a castle entertaining the king not to use it. Switch it up, content is king and its time for you to accept your crown. (Sorry Charles, no room at the inn).
One thing i would like to have them make better or build is the ability to have custom landing pages for authors, advertisers and promotions. That is something I use in my media company and that is missing. Also, there needs to be more templates and the ability to build out other blocks that are specialist to the publication.
There's social media management built in.
Paywalls
Automatic author profiles (needs to be better with more granular control)
Just do yourselves a favor and get this - it is, in my mind far superior to storychief.
