Q: Most (if not all) the AI website builders I've read about thusfar require that the finished website be hosted by the AI provider.
Unfortunately, this for me is a deal breaker, and one of the reasons I absolutely won't build a site with Wix. I want to "own" the generated site and be able to move it at will between hosting platforms. I do see the benefit of the lifetime access to the "workspace" area - hosted on your own server where the tools are located. But, once you have generated a "static" site, I need to be able to move that site wherever I please.
What would be the reason to restrict hosting of completed sites to your own servers?

I have already purchased LTD's from AppSumo that help me generate content with AI, and help with SEO and marketing using AI. The former allowed me to cut/paste the generated content into my own sites (while leaving the prompts and generated results on their site for potential revision). The latter is strictly a SaaS product and works fine. The LindoAI website generator showed much promise (I tried their free trial but did not purchase because I could not be assured their product would not disappear like a few of my AppSumo purchases have gone out of business or abandoned their initial offering). To me, it makes sense that once a website is created, I should have the ability and the RIGHT to host it where I please. But I agree with you that it is not appropriate to self-host the other elements of your suite.
