you please clarify for me how the number of members works exactly? Say I reach the 300 limit but then 50 members don't renew their membership over a period of time, so technically I have space for 50 more people to sign up. OR does the 300 limit mean once you reach 300 members that's it and I either have to upgrade or stay limited?

The member limit applies to active members. It does not include cancelled members. If you're on a budget, then start with one code. You can always upgrade at a later date when you need to. We will sell additional codes for the same amount after the AppSumo deal ends.
