What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?

I'm a serial entrepreneur with 25 years experience developing software. From 2005-2014 I worked side-by-side with Seth Godin as the cofounder of Squidoo, a social publishing platform that achieved $10M in revenue and over 1M visitors per day at its peak. I've raised over $7M in venture funding and achieved multiple exits. Now with Subscribr I'm well on my way to achieving my next goal of $1M in annual revenue as a solo bootstrapped founder.

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?

My last company was a venture-backed B2B startup. I saw first-hand the power of video marketing and first became interested in YouTube. After that company was acquired in 2023, I dove head first into YouTube. I started by setting up my own "faceless" documentary channel - hiring a team to help me produce the videos. But I quickly realized how difficult it was to find quality scriptwriters. With the growing capabilities of AI, I decided to make a big bet: that by focusing all my efforts, I could develop an AI scriptwriter that rivals professional scriptwriters, all while being more reliable and cost efficient.

What problem is your product solving and how?

Subscribr takes you from a video idea to a finished long-form video script in minutes. Unlike most tools that offer AI scripts, Subscribr is built around YouTube scriptwriting best practices including storytelling structures, hooks, and curiosity gaps to keep viewers engaged.
