Q: Hello, I'm always on the lookout for tools that help with productivity and came across Superdense.
How does this compare to using the Bookmark Bar on chrome browser, which is something I use everyday and have mastered to use effectively.
Within the bookmark bar I use emoji icons to save space and have the option to use text as well (easier to recognize the bookmark that way).
I have folders (essentially categories) and can also nest folders within folders. If I really need to micromanage the order and edit the bookmarks or perform a search, I open the Bookmark Manager and do stuff there.
From what I've seen so far the benefits of using Superdense over the native Bookmark Bar is that it is web-based and therefore can be used across multiple devices/browsers and has a clean dashboard UI/UX.
Is there anything else I missed? I'm a little worried that limiting every bookmark to icons may limit productivity - often times I temporarily bookmark a random blog page I want to read/check later that has no favicon so it might be tiresome to search through these kinds of bookmarks.
What is Superdense goes down? Then I lose all access to my bookmarks. What if Superdense gets hacked or my page is unknowingly made public? Then all my bookmarks will be seen by the world.
Is this targeting business use with the team members across tiers? Not sure how I would use that feature or public pages for personal use.
Sorry to be nitpicking here - I want to improve productivity with a tool like this but still not sure if this app is worth the price given the pros and cons I mentioned above (for my use-case at least with the chrome bookmark bar).

Those are some great comments and questions to address š
We created Superdense primarily to overcome some of the limitations of the bookmarks bar that annoyed us the most: the limited space. Sure you can use folders and subfolders, but that means extra clicks and remembering where I left what. Search in browser bookmarks suck imho, and following the Pareto Principe (80/20 rule), our goal was to build an ultracompact bookmark manager for the sites you visit the most. Yes, that also means we didn't include the 20% that's may also come in handy some day. But to start, we needed to prove a viable business case for the vision on what Superdense currently is. We have that proof now, especially from the wonderful feedback we receive here from Sumo-lings āØ
As you can read from my intro post, Superdense is quite an opinionated bookmarking tool. That also means just icons, no text. Use the search (press /) to see how to overcome that limitation. But if you use Superdense as quickstart dashboard - not archive for the 500+ bookmarks you hardly ever visit again - you will pretty soon locate each link visually + muscle memory. Build it as a curated list, not a big data dump, and you'll enjoy it forever. If you prefer a data dump bookmark archive, I'd say combine Superdense + Raindrop.
Long story short, to bookmark a random blog I'd recommend something like Pocket. But I'm not a type that searches for big software that solves it all, I like cherry picking and combine the tools that excel at something specific.
What if Superdense goes down or gets hacked? I can answer that question with a little info on our architecture: We run on Firebase (Google Cloud) as a serveless app. As long as Firebase is up, we're up. And they hardly ever go down. Though incidents happen, but that goes for the web in general. For our uptime, check https://status.superdense.com/.
But if you feel better to have a copy of your bookmarks so now and then, use our Export feature: https://help.superdense.com/export-bookmarks About hacking I won't speculate on that. We do pride ourselves that we know and use enterprise grade solutions.
Is Superdense targeting business use with the team members across tiers? Yes, but always with a personal focus. Every individual has their own account and decides how to organize things. So in a team you can make plans to have the same background image and logo placed, but just as with Linkedin accounts, every individual is responsible for doing so.
Well, long story, maybe not literally an answer to each question, but I hope it gives you an idea on what we have to offer with Superdense. Just give it a try, and if you don't like it, push the refund button. That's the sweet deal that Appsumo always offers. š®
