Worth it - but expect a learning curve

I first became interested in AI art when an author friend started posting her creations on Facebook. As a creative person whose strength is words and who loves fantasy and sci-fi, the thought of bringing my ideas to life without years of art lessons and hours of work creating them was very appealing. But I'm unfamiliar with Discord, so I figured I'd try it out when I had more time to learn everything.

Then Simplified, an AppSumo purchase, launched their own AI art platform. I was excited to be able to try it out for "free," but trying was all I could do, as I only received 30 credits with my existing lifetime account.

A week or so later, Supermachine launched on AppSumo. I almost bought it right away, but I saw in some reviews/questions that the setup was very simple and I knew I needed more guidance to have great prompts for great outputs. Stuart seemed very responsive to suggestions, so I figured I'd sit back for a bit and see how long the changes took to go live.

Wow. I am completely blown away by how quickly the team at Supermachine has been implementing the suggestions. It's been less than a week, and they've already added so many useful things! And they've done that while still keeping the interface uncluttered if you don't want to use them.

Until the reviews/questions mentioning no refunds came up, I didn't realize this wasn't an AppSumo Select deal. And I completely understand why Supermachine doesn't allow refunds. Someone could keep buying and refunding under different accounts, and easily walk away with hundreds of thousands of generated images while the deal is live.

For myself, I only bought one code at the moment because I don't know how much I'll use it yet. 750 credits/month is very generous and I haven't even used the first 50. I've mostly been playing around with it to see what the different prompts do (and I wish I was more familiar with all the different artists listed because I think that would help).

It's definitely a learning curve to get used to the prompts. And I think that's what most people who are mad about the no refund policy are really upset about. They expect Supermachine to read their minds, but AI art doesn't work like that. And a bit of wonkiness (especially with people and animals) is to be expected at this stage of AI art development.

Improvements? I love a lot of things on their roadmap, and I'm excited that their current pace of development means I'm not going to be waiting months for most of them. For myself, I'd love to be able to save a prompt string (majority of a prompt, but without the subject) to a favorites list I could access in advanced styling or somewhere similar. That way, I could easily generate art with a similar look.

I'd also love the ability to favorite art - both my own (although with upcoming folders that will be easy to use instead) and in Image Inspiration. If I like 2+ prompts that come up in an image search, I don't have an easy way to try several.
