Might Work for Newbies

Overall great in theory. I have used a different portal system, but it was too much work for something clients never looked at. I thought the simplicity of this (with a client checklist) would be better. However, there are several major flaws:

- clients cannot add to-do items
- clients cannot edit documents
- document section can't be removed
- documents not intuitive
- branding template is limited
- it's buggy

There are other things I suspect would be problematic but haven't dived in enough. I'm pretty sure this won't work for my business. I already have a proposal system, contracts, forms, knowledgebase, so the documents are overkill/unnecessary for me. I would use them if they could be shared for client editing, but clients can only input info via form, which isn't ideal for long-form content. Clients being unable to add their own to-dos are a deal-breaker. I have a PM system, so I don't need that functionality for me. And the documents overall feel... odd, with an approval option for me, but not for the client? My clients are generally not tech-savvy, and if this isn't dead simple they won't use it.

I think if you're starting from scratch, and you want to be able to have proposals/documents and a knowledgebase, this might work well. I guess it feels like there's too much emphasis on the wrong features, at least for me.

Hi and thanks so much for the in-depth feedback! This really is gold for a product in full development swing such as SuperOkay.

We too come from a background of being an agency and we used to have clients that were hard to persuade to join yet another app. So we decided to go for the minimal effort level for client side of the app. Typically an agency would onboard a client in the early stages with creating the brief and initial proposal.

Based on our early user interviews requirements gathering was generally done by the agency with punctual input from the client. Later, once on-boarded, the client would request changes in calls and meetings and the agency would record the requests and ask the client for Approval or a tick off on their To-dos. This is what prompted some the limited choices when it comes to client interactions.

In the meantime, however, our users have requested that clients be able to interact more fully with the app by adding action items, editing documents, and more. So we are currently in the process of designing a user management system that will allow all these.

So thanks so much for letting us know your feedback and for your patience while we develop and release these much needed features.

Finally, sorry you encountered some bugs, we do our very best to not let them in and squash them mercilessly when we find them :)
