In the interim, are we able to integrate your support request form with GrooveHQ? How does the form work, does it generate an email that is sent to our support desk or does it need an API connection?

We don't have a dedicated integration with GrooveHQ, but we added the request in our backlog.
You can use Support Hero along with your GrooveHQ account of course, by simply using your support email as the recipient of all the messages sent through the contact form. There's no special need for an API to do so.
