Braindump of annoyances after tinkering 15 Minutes only.
- No scripting or automation support.
- "Tracking" is interval based (>= Daily at specific time).
- No dynamic (no rss nor pub/sub) 'realtime' tracking.
- You can either load all videos from a channel (which isn’t practical for large YouTube channels) or paste up to 50 URLs. There’s no way to select one or more specific videos.
- When tracking a channel, the app tries to download every existing video.
- There are no options to set a start date for older videos, avoid fetching past uploads or limiting the amount of past videos to be loaded.
- After adding videos (single or bulk), you can’t change their settings.
- While in `add` mode, it loses your choices frequently.
- About 90% of fetch attempts fail anyway.
- No controls for download quality (minimum or maximum res; only static).
- This is causing errors if the chosen quality doesn’t exist on the remote host. (no options to fallback to next lower available or adhoc conversion for such cases only)
- There’s no built-in player.
- The interface is not intuitive (for example, I’d expect to manage a channel and see videos sorted by newest, select (manually, visible, pages from/to, videos by title containing XYZ / exclude / filter / search / ...).
- The single video that did download doesn’t show its publish date.
- No auto-renaming options (no “smart” nor RegEx-based (auto) renaming like many RSS tools offer). Renaming is manual - for each item.
- No Channel based config overall (e.g. channel specific download folder).
- Everything feels like being all over the place.
- I could list many more issues.
I’m on macOS Tahoe v26.3 (latest).
I don’t understand how this app got so many five-star reviews, given its missing features and unreliability.
Sorry, but this feels like an unfinished MVP and isn’t ready for prime time in its current state.

Feb 17, 2026Hello, I am sorry to hear this. We are trying to make a simple video downloader to help people fetch videos. At least by now, features like transcribing for marketing are not considered yet. Also, I am interested in knowing which tool covers all features you listed here.
You talk so much about channel downloading. The fact is that few people download downloading whole channel. If you only download few videos, why don't you include them into a playlist and then download them all at once?
