Q: Poison Pill: Contacts Limits
Still don't get it. Since one impacts the other, most marketing tools limit either contacts or sends - yet you limit both, aggressively on each tier. AI limits may be low too. Hard to really know w/ "credits".
Unless many are buying and not reviewing, maybe the low limits have overshadowed the powerful Swipe brand?
I've noticed this trend when more established brands come to AS. It's less of an LTD, and more of a creative freemium-esque maneuver to rig for MRR down the road.
If the purpose of offering an LTD on AS is to get feedback for dev, word of mouth, build case studies, etc., then it seems reasonable that you'd want to make the deal kinda irresistible. Or at least good. Too many options in the space.

Jan 20, 2025A: Hey Mark,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand your concerns about Contact Limits. I have already spoken to a number of customers regarding this. We have had a lot of demand for Tier 5 especially with number of agencies around so we have already made the following changes. Do jump into our discord server if you are not convinced. It does not reflect on the Appsumo page yet, but it has already been updated for existing customers on our end.
Contacts - Unlimited
Workspaces - 15
Domains - 15
AI Credits - 30K
We have also made changes to Tier 3 and Tier 4 plans but primarily to the Workspace limits to align them with the price increase from previous tiers along with some increases to contact limits.
Also you seem to have jumped to conclusions without knowing the intent or actually look at it from our perspective. Which is offer deals that keep the product and business sustainable. That way we deliver value over the long run like what we have been doing for Swipe Pages.
We also know for a fact that most early customers from appsumo do not like to be pushed to recurring plans. That has never been our intention as well.
There are pure CRMs without any marketing features, then they potentially don't set a cap on contacts. They will have limits elsewhere mostly on team members so that they charge on a per user basis.
Take Active Campaign - 15000 contacts - 10x email sends ( $265 / mo ). This is just marketing related features. Sales features come as addons and pricing starts at ( $465/mo ).
Hubspot - CRM has like 1 Million contacts, but the moment you want to add Marketing features to it, pricing starts at $800/mo and then a per seat pricing on top of it.
Salesforce - $25/mo/user for the SMB CRM. Add marketing to it, $1250/mo for 10K contacts.
Mailchimp - $140 /mo for 15K contacts 10x email sends.
Close.com - Per user pricing, no cap on contacts but not marketing automation or email marketing features. You will need a separate software like Mailchimp for this.
Pipedrive CRM - Per seat pricing + Email Marketing as add on based on contacts.
In none of these can you have workspaces and bring in different clients.
Take Sendfox an appsumo deal - 25K contacts for $245, unlimited email sends but just campaigns. You can have Automated Workflows like what we do nor is it a CRM.
We combine CRM with Marketing Automation and Email marketing as well. We don't have a cap on Sales emails that you send using your connected inboxes. Imagine Tier 5, it provides 200 team members, thats technically 200 mailboxes that you can connect and no cap on sales emails you send. I believe the pricing table doesn't convey that clearly. We just have a cap on Marketing emails that can be sent.
Compare these to our offer ( $299 for 15K contacts), a one time pricing for Sales & Marketing functions combined in a single easy to use interface. You have an ecommerce business that is marketing led or have a B2B SaaS that is Sales led, Swipe One handles both use cases in an elegant way. 10x - 12x Marketing email sends is a quite an industry standard.
So it may seem as though we have caps on multiple layers, but these are very reasonable limits that will help a lot of businesses scale without ever having to upgrade or switch software or pay for multiple tools.
regards,
Swami
