Thanks. I'm playing around with it now. I ended up purchasing TabsFolders because I saw that the team was open to all the feedback about a UX/UI update. I am also hoping that they will update the UX/UI.

Q: Dear Sumo-lings,
Our apologies there was a bug with the a new release of the AppSumo redemption form here: https://www.
tabsfolders.com/appsumoplanhome
We have fixed the issue and code redemption is working 100% again.
I needed to find bookmarks and chrome makes it impossible to do this. Then, I remember my good old friend tabsfolder. I typed in the keywords in the tool and "boooom", it gave me all the bookmarks with that keyword. I really love this tool. You guys should advertise the search functionality which google chrome doesn't have.
Q: Hi
1/ If I share a link or a folder with my team, do they need a TabF account to open it ?
2/ Can I share a link without sharing a password like if it's an access by login page ? I'm using RoboForm for that, and I'm thinking how to manage the passwords link which are stored there PLUS the links which don't need a login access on TabF
3/ Is the current session automatically saved ? In case my mac shut down, or something happens.. yup it happens sometimes, and I want to be able to get back to them, like after installer an Update that need to reboot the computer
4/ What do you define the limit of browsers ? If I'm using safari and I share a link with 10 friends who use Safari, Does it count as 1 browser ?
5/ Do you have a public roadmap ?
6/ Do you have an add-on for Safari, Firefox, Chrome + app for MacOS, iOS, Android ? If not, how do I get access to all the tabs on all my devices ? As a web developer I use many browsers to test my work..
7/ Is this tool GDPR compliant ?
8/ Is the cloud backup on your servers on can I choose my Dropbox or Drive or anything else ?
9/ Is TabFolder synched with my browser ? I mean, if I only use TabF Safari's add-on, does it mean my native safari bookmarks will be empty ? I don't mind having all bookmarks cleared, it's even better in case it gets stolen in the future for my own safety Same question for other browsers ? Do it create a copy of the tabs on all my browsers ? Or it's just on the software ?
Thanks for reaching out. To answer your questions: 1)Your team doesn't need a TabsFolders account or the extension to open links from your shared folder.
2)Currently we don't manage passwords in TabF, but we will add it to the public roadmap for voting. In the meantime you can use the combination of TabF and Roboform.
3)The current session is not saved currently but as above we will add it to the roadmap.
4)We define 1 browser as a browser with access to all your bookmarks. So if you share a folder with 10,100, or 10K friends ;) it's still 1 browser.
5)The public roadmap is here: https://3746209a-7624-42b0-abd9-b0e66da537a3.roadmap.space/
6)Currently we support Chrome and Safari, with Firefox and mobile native apps on the roadmap up for voting. A MacOS app is not currently on the roadmap as the browser plugins have the same functionality.
7)We are a Canadian company and strive to meet GDPR regulations. As per the GDPR you can therefore request to have your data deleted, etc.
8)The cloud backup is on our servers with 10 days history. However you can also export your Tabs to a JSON file from TabsFolders when you right click on a folder.
9)TabsFolders only imports your browser bookmarks when you choose tp. TabsFolders bookmarks are not synchronized to browser bookmarks. TabsFolders uses a local storage engine to enable managing a large number of bookmarks effectively and we plan to add more features which go beyond traditional bookmark systems.
I hope this answers your questions and shoot away with any more you may have.
Q: Hello All,
I just watched the webinar and this looks like a great product!
I'm interested in having the tabs and folders able to be color-coded. Please leave a YES in the comments if it would be helpful to you as well so they'll add this to it in the future. This is my ask for them and the community.
Thanks for your feedback and support. We have added your request to the roadmap for voting. You can find it here: https://3746209a-7624-42b0-abd9-b0e66da537a3.roadmap.space/
With TabsFolders you can save and organize tabs a lot faster and sync and share between browsers. It's like mowing a lawn with a hand mower versus a lawn tractor.
Q: I actually could see the value in a product like this, and actually spent 10+ minutes looking for info.
But I don't see how this makes sense for anyone. It's a premium product with worse security and privacy than a free product, which is also run by a company that makes the majority of it's money in advertising. I spent 10+ minutes searching the site for a privacy policy and found none. So I assume our info is to be sold? Can't see any other reason that you're not showing a privacy policy for a product that holds people (sometimes private) info. Between the lack of GDPR compliance and no privacy policy, I see this not having a long life.
Q: Hey Chris,
Thanks for bringing this product to us.
I guess you could say I am a heavy browser user, it's quite common for me to have up to 150 tabs open since I use the "start where you left of" option. I definitely have a need for tab management there are tons of choices in this space to help, and many free that I have tried like Papillion, One tab, the great suspender, email this page, workona, history search etc. but as yet I have not found a perfect solution - at volume category management is really necessary. It feels like so far your product development is focused on the fluff like sharing our book marks, cross browser sharing, open all the bookmarks in a folder etc. I'm not saying that they aren't useful for some people sometimes but they are secondary requirements. IMHO - the core requirements for this space is: 1. robustness of storage - those bookmarks represent thousands of hours of work, many tools can lose them, a back up and restore (export/import) feature is essential and it needs to be rock solid - does Tabs folder have these features?
2. Practical onboarding and import - if a user has thousands of bookmarks in say chrome, with a folder structure will Tabsfolder import everything from chrome including the existing folder structure.
3. Bookmark Categorisation Options - I need a practical fast workflow for saving and categorising in multiple categories - when saving bookmarks I am doing so for future reference, very often the bookmark will be relevant to multiple topics/tasks/folders, I need a tool to save that bookmark in all folders categories in one fast action, it's very old fashioned and limiting to only be able to save a bookmark in one place, and repeatedly saving it in multiple folders one at a time is a waste of time - ideally it should work like gmail labels (basically like tags) or even better, does it?
4. Bookmarking Workflow - If I understand correctly, at the moment to categorise a bookmark in Tabsfolders you need to do so in two steps: First save it into a general bookmarks folder, then secondly go into the app and file it in a folder? (and you can only save it in one folder as mentioned above?). That seems far too time consuming, please can you confirm if that's how it works.
5. The deal structure is based on the number of bookmarks does the same url in five folders count as one bookmark or five?
5. Retrieval - it would be nice if when reviewing folders for useful tabs we had options for the view displayed (perhaps even like windows file explorer "view" options), naked urls are not always as helpful as I would like, typing descriptions or notes is ok but time consuming - but thumbnails or even thumbnails with the first x(configurable in settings) characters would be my ideal (although I recognise that will have storage and bandwidth implications), what are the options for the "view" on retrieval in Tabsfolders?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to your questions. We really appreciate your in-depth comments, there's a lot to unpack so apologies if I miss something.
1. Yes we have in place cloud storage so all your tabs will be secured off device.
2. By default when TabsFolders imports bookmarks from Chrome it keeps the folder structure.
3. This is something currently missing but have heard since the deal went live. It's on our backlog and we'll get to it as soon as possible.
4. Yes that's the workflow at the moment, as mentioned in point 3, something we'll be correcting in the next update.
5. Those would be counted as 1 bookmark and not 5.
6. This has come up also. At the moment the folder name is the only area where you have space to leave short comments. But we'll be looking into notes functionality as a priority too.
Let me know if I answered everything, would love to hear your thoughts after using the product.
Kamil here Co-founder of TF and I wanted to jump in and add to Chris' reply,
To answer you: 1)The AppSumo plan includes a 10 day backup schedule for your bookmarks but in case you prefer to be doubly secure there is a bookmark export feature, which exports all your bookmarks into JSON format.
2)Yes the whole folder structure from chrome is imported into TabsFolders.
3)We will add this to the roadmap as either labels, tags or folder links. Depending on user voting.
4)There are two methods to save a bookmark / group of bookmarks. a)Save button/hotkey fast but goes to default folder. b)Hotkey to TabsFolders and drag and drop to any folder in your collection. c)We are definitely open to more efficient / better ways of doing this.
5)The same URL counts as one bookmark.
6)We will add this to the roadmap for voting as we definitely plan to add more views / ways to view data in TabsFolders to help you work more effectively. On the data front we will look at options (server storage vs. local storage) and come up with the most workable implementation.
To make (4) easier, would you consider just auto saving (and auto-deleting on close) all open tabs from the current session?
i.e. I open a new tab and silently, in the background, it is added to TabsFolders in some kind of "session" folder. If I then want to continue my session from another device I just press a button and *boom* all tabs from the previous session are now in front of me.
If I want to "manage" any of them then I can drag and drop them out of the session folder and do what I want with them. They're now not auto-deleted when I close the "live" tab and everything is sweet :-)
That way I can use TabsFolders without ever having to bookmark anything. But I still have access to the more powerful features when I need them.
This is a reply to h4ppy's comment "To make (4) easier..." Yes we already access the "current session" in the folder current session; so we can add a feature to synchronize this folder between browsers when you click a button for example. Adding this to the feature roadmap.
Q: I tried the trial, but for me there is one glaring issue which prevents me from buying it.
I expected bookmarks to be synced back again to Chrome and Safari bookmarks so that I can access the new bookmarks on my iPhone through the safari browser as well. However it can only import bookmarks once and doesn't sync them back. This means that I cannot add new bookmarks on my iPhone and have it available on my Chrome browser on my Macbook unless I import again.
Thanks for your question. TabsFolders has more features under the hood and we will be adding even more (custom sorting, etc.) to the bookmarks which the built in bookmarks of Chrome or Safari; don't have. We can look at synchronizing a subset of the data back to the browser bookmarks; we will validate if this is possible without user interaction and add to the roadmap.
Q: Q1) So it's a way to manage bookmarks, not a way to manage browser tabs?
Is that right?
Background: I use "Tree Style Tab" in Firefox a the moment and have about 150-200 tabs "open" at any given time. I can drag and drop them - and nest them - for free, and adding more is just a matter of opening a new tab. There's no extra step to "save" or "bookmark" anything.
From Christie's intro video and what I've read so far, it doesn't seem that TabsFolders is going to fit into that workflow... I don't really use bookmarks, so ...
Q2) would I need to change how I work in order to get any benefit? (i.e. start using bookmrks and go through the extra "bookmark this" step)
Feature queries:
Q3) I think what I am really looking for is Tree Style Tabs with a pop-up window to make it easier to reorganise (live) tabs. Can TabsFolders auto-bookmark and keep all tabs that are in my current session?
Q4) Can TabsFolders nest tabs in my browser? (So I have a visual hierarchy of tabs)
Q5) Can TabsFolders put a keyboard shortcut to jump to a specific (open) tab?
Q6) Is there a way to bookmark and close (save for later) a whole branch of currently open browser tabs?
Thanks for reaching out. To answer your questions: 1)TabsFolders allows you to manage tabs and bookmarks with the same interface. Currently open tabs are in the "Current Session" Folder, while closed tabs are in the Bookmarks folder.
2)I suppose it depends on how you see your workflow; eg. if you have 100-200 tabs all the time, then you can use "The Great Suspender" and use TabsFolders to search those tabs / move them around between different windows. If you prefer to work with less open tabs then you can drag and drop several windows to a folder and save them for later.
3)To bookmark all tabs in the current session: Open TF, expand the current session folder, select all the windows and drop and drop to a folder. All windows are now saved to a single "Session" Folder.
4)Not sure what you mean by this, some more detail would be great.
5)There is a keyboard shortcut to open TabsFolders and in the search bar you can search for the open Tab you are looking for. We could add a keyboard shortcut to go directly to the search bar and find the tab you are looking for.
6)Yes just select the windows in the current session and drag and drop them to a folder.
Q: I missed this :( Who wants to sell their codes instead of return them?
You get your $ back and TabsFolder gets a valuable AppSumo customer :D

May 15, 2024A: Hi Sumo-ling

Hey Sumo-ling,
Kamil here Co-founder of TF and I wanted to jump in and add to Chris' reply,
To answer you:
1)The AppSumo plan includes a 10 day backup schedule for your bookmarks but in case you prefer to be doubly secure there is a bookmark export feature, which exports all your bookmarks into JSON format.

Is this true?

May 15, 2024A: Hello Sumo-Wrestler,
Thanks for your question.

May 15, 2024A: Dear h4ppy,
Thanks for reaching out. To answer your questions:
1)TabsFolders allows you to manage tabs and bookmarks with the same interface.
