Before Tarsen I tried to run everything from notes and to-do lists, and it never held. I write something down once and never look at it again. I work across several projects at the same time, so what I actually needed was one place that shows me where each one stands right now, without me piecing it back together first. A board is what finally worked, because I could see it. So I built the board and stopped there. Most of the tools I tried do far more than I need: sprints, custom fields, dashboards, five kinds of status, settings I will never open. Every one of those is a reason to stop working and go and manage the tool instead. I kept Tarsen small on purpose. Columns, cards, labels, the things you actually use. Then I added voice, because making the cards was the slow part. Clicking into a form, typing the title, dragging it where it goes: that is where I lose the thought I was trying to capture. Now you just talk to it and it talks back, like a normal conversation. Make a card for this. Put a label on it. Shorten that description. Move it across. It takes seconds and you never leave what you were doing. It is for anyone who works better looking at a board than at a list, on your own projects or with a small team. And the plan is to keep it this way. The temptation with a tool like this is to keep adding, and the reason I use mine is that I did not.
