Q: GDPR for EU - Any news?

Hi team, I purchased Tarvent through your AppSumo lifetime deal but haven't activated it yet. I'm EU-based and concerned about GDPR compliance and potential fines before importing any contacts.

In a September 2024 AppSumo Q&A, you mentioned data was hosted in the US, with an EU/UK environment planned "by the end of the year," and that a DPA could be discussed on request rather than offered as a standard document.

Since over a year has passed, could you confirm the current status so I can safely decide whether to activate my account:

Is EU data hosting live now, or still US-only?
Do you now offer a standard, signable DPA?
If data stays in the US, do you use Standard Contractual Clauses for EU transfers?
Do you publish a sub-processor list?
Thanks in advance!

A: Hi, thanks for asking directly, and sorry we didn’t update the earlier thread.

EU hosting: Our data is hosted in the US on Microsoft Azure. The EU/UK environment we mentioned in 2024 did not happen due a lack of demand, and it isn’t on our near-term roadmap.

DPA: We don’t have a standard, signable DPA published today. We’re finalizing one and plan to publish it in Q1, 2027.

Transfers: That DPA will include the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum to cover transfers to the US.

Sub-processors: We’ll publish our sub-processor list alongside the DPA by Q1, 2027.

If you need these in place before importing EU contacts, we’d suggest waiting to activate until they’re live. We’ll post an update here when they are. If you have questions in the meantime, let us know.
