Can you add to a campaign via webhook and remove from campaign via webhook like Active Campaign?

Sep 5, 2024A: When you say "add to a campaign" or "remove from campaign", do you mean add a contact to an already sent campaign, an unsent campaign, or both.
In either case, we don't support this but is something we can certainly look into. If you can provide a business case, that would help us understand the intented use.
Yes so in Jira I tap an add to campaign buttton that sends a webhook to add to a campaign list in active campaign. When they reply, I add the remove from campaign button from Jira the same way removing them.
I guess I'm still a little confused why you'd add them to a campaign, then remove them. Once they are sent the campaign, I'm not sure what good removing them would do. Maybe I'm missing something. Now if you're talking about automations (Journeys), we do support than and can add/remove a contact from a journey via our API or with Zapier or Make (more integrations to come).
Jason, the confusion is due to Tarvent’s terminology. Most email marketing platforms I’ve used refer to a one-off email as a broadcast or blast, and an automated series of emails as a campaign.
Mega is referring to removing someone from what you call a Journey.
I recommend Tarvent consider calling one-off emails something else besides a campaign.
Ah, thank you for the clarification. We've been in the industry awhile and haven't seen any platform refer to campaigns as one-off emails and Journeys as campaigns. We try to stick with terminology used by the industry leaders but we're certainly not perfect and may miss a few things a long the way. That's why we love the feedback! Thank you!
I think when perspective Sumolings are looking at Tarvent and not ever using the tool they assume the terminology is the same as others. MBALady is right this confused me for a while as well. I think Tarvent bread and butter being journeys we all just assumed that these would be called campaigns. Tomatos or Toemotoes its a journey in Tarvent. If Maga changes his word to Journey then same page.
