After a couple of hours to get my first automation to work, it felt like magic!

I have been a web designer for over 20 years and content transfer has been the bane of my existence for much of that time. I never really explored automating tasks until I started coaching web designers a couple of years ago. I’ve tried Keyboard Maestro, which is great and very powerful, but it’s showing its age with a UI that hasn't changed in decades. That’s why TaskMagic piqued my interest.

A bit like when I first took driving lessons (having driven tractors and machinery on my family farm since I was 12), I spent my first 5-6 hours unlearning habits from other software.
It was frustrating, but that was entirely due to my impatience. Then I chuckled when I saw one of the YouTube videos in which Jeremy explained that this is going to be an issue for those with experience in this field. It's good to know I am not alone in this one!

Earlier today, I was able to scrape URLs from the Squarespace media library (every image in the CDN has unique URL strings) and scrape the filenames to a second column of a Google Sheet. With a couple of tweaks, I could then reorder these pesky image links alphabetically and import them into a new database directly from the spreadsheet. This is a very specific case, but this is also exactly why I like what I see so far. The flexibility and customization options make it a very powerful tool.

TaskMagic hasn't quite justified the tier 5 price tag yet (I've only had it for a week!), but I’m confident it won’t take long. I’m almost certainly going to be recommending this tool to my students as soon as I’ve had a chance to master it.

The interface is beautifully designed too. This is my kind of automation tool!
