We've seen a number of questions about whether the credits included in LTD plans are enough, so we want to address this openly and transparently.
TL;DR (Most important): We’re granting all AppSumo users an additional two months of credits upfront as a one-time top-up — applies to both existing and future purchases, and will be applied automatically to eligible workspaces. This top-up does not reset monthly and will remain available until used. You’ll be able to view it under Space icon (top-left) → Billing once the feature is live.
💰 Credits Are Provided at Cost — Zero Markup
First and most importantly: Teable does not make any margin on credits.
Every credit you use or purchase is priced at the underlying AI model cost currently. We are not trying to profit from credit consumption — we want you to use AI as much as possible to get the most out of Teable.
📊 Why up to 6,000 Credits per Month?
AI has real, ongoing infrastructure costs. The 6,000 monthly credits included in LTD plans were set after carefully balancing user value with long-term sustainability.
To put this in perspective: if a user fully consumes 6,000 credits in a month, that translates to roughly $60 in direct cost on our side. For a lifetime deal, this is an extremely generous commitment — and one we're happy to make because we believe in the value Teable delivers.
For most individual users (especially those not sharing a workspace with many collaborators), 6,000 credits per month provides solid capacity for building tables, running automations, and using AI features.
🔍 What Credits Actually Cover (Quick Examples)
To make credits more concrete, here are a few real-world examples based on 2,000 credits (monthly credits in one Business plan seat; 100 credits = $1 at underlying model cost).
Once you’ve already built a stable database structure or apps, ongoing credit usage is usually much lower. In most cases, it comes mostly from automation runs (1 automation actions only consume 1 credit). Over long-term usage, the “credit burn” tends to feel significantly lower, while the system value (your data model, automations, and apps) continues to compound over time.
🎁 Two Months of Extra Credits Upfront for AppSumo Users
To help you get Teable fully set up at the beginning, we are granting all AppSumo users an additional two months of credits upfront as a one-time top-up balance. This applies to both existing AppSumo customers who have already purchased, and new AppSumo customers who purchase in the future. This will be applied automatically to eligible workspaces.
Offering this is a significant cost on our side, but the love and support we receive from users makes us believe it is worth it. We believe that once you truly experience Teable’s value, you’ll naturally share it with others. That word of mouth will translate into real ARR over time, which will help us build the world’s #1 database agent. We are fully committed to that direction.
Example (Tier 4):
Monthly credits = 6,000
One-time top-up = 6,000 × 2 = 12,000
Total available in Month 1 = 6,000 + 12,000 = 18,000
This one-time top-up balance does not reset monthly, it will not disappear in Month 2, and it will remain available until used.

🔋 Need More? Top Up at Cost
If you need additional credits, you can purchase add-on credits — again, at cost, with no markup. Top-ups work on a simple subscription basis: for example, $5 for 500 credits per month, renewing until you cancel.
🎁 Earn 1,000 Free Credits Every Week
You can earn 1,000 credits per week by sharing your experience via the "Share experience" entry (bottom-left corner of the product). We genuinely value these posts — they help us improve and help others in the community make informed decisions.
🔑 BYOK — Bring Your Own Key
For power users who want unlimited AI usage, Teable supports Bring Your Own Key (BYOK). You can connect your own API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, etc.) and bypass credit consumption entirely for field-level AI tasks.
Note: App Builder currently does not support BYOK. App Builder also does not support switching models at the moment. That said, we strongly recommend using the latest Claude Opus model (e.g., 4.6) for the best experience. Details here: https://help.teable.ai/en/basic/ai/custom-model
🚀 We're Continuously Improving Credit Efficiency
We're actively optimizing how credits are consumed across the product. Our goal is simple: you should be able to do more with the same amount of credits over time. As we improve model routing, caching, and task optimization, your credits will stretch further and further. And with the broader AI industry trending toward cheaper and more efficient models, token costs will continue to drop — meaning your LTD credits will naturally become more valuable over time.
💡 Choosing the Right Tier
If you plan to run heavy automations, build multiple apps, or work with larger datasets, we strongly recommend Tier 3–4 for the additional capacity and flexibility. Tier 1 is designed for lighter, individual usage.
We understand that "credits" can feel uncertain, especially in an LTD context. But we want to be clear: we are fully aligned with your interests here. The more you use Teable, the more value we both get. We have zero incentive to limit your usage — and every incentive to make credits go further.
