Not All Heroes Wear Capes

Some of them wear Teable Shirts and spend their days perfecting one of the most powerful SAAS products ever invented. I am just a small non-technical business owner trying to automate my business processes. For several months I have been searching for a product just like Teable. At first blush I wasn't sure it would be applicable to my situation and tech stack. Since I read great reviews and saw the AppSumo deal was ending soon I decided to purchase Tier 1 to test it out. I tested it by importing some data on a PostgreSQL database. I was shocked how easy and effective it was at doing that requiring no technical ability on my end. Just copying and pasting the database information and Teable did the rest. I upgraded to Tier 3 for more in-depth testing. I have a vacation rental business and use Beds24 as my PMS which has an open API. Within a few hours Teable set up a direct API connection with Beds24 pulling in all my guest data into tables. Not only that but it set up a messaging connection with Beds24 so I could create automation's that end in sending my guests messages in AirBnB, Expedia, Booking.com etc. All my guests fill out an online registration form answering basic information about their stay. I set up an automation workflow forwarding the pre-check-in info to a gmail email address that teable can access to parse the data and enter it into a table in Teable. I set up automations based on the guest answers that send automated messages by channel to the guests. Finally I set up a drip email and SMS campaign sending a marketing email and text message at the 30 day anniversary of a guest's check-out including a coupon code they can use on my websites for a discount. All these capabilities are basic and very similar to many other businesses and their requirements. Yet it took me a few hours to do in Teable that which was taking me months of work trying to do elsewhere. I never actually got to the finish line with any other product. So many products I tested were not flexible enough, were too complex, didn't have the right functionality or were too difficult for a non-technical practitioner. What stands out to me in Teable compared to other similar products was how effective the AI agents are at building exactly what you ask them to build. I did all this and more using only ~3000 credits. The credit usage is beyond fair thanks to the hard work of the Teable team adding more bang for the credit buck. Within 2 hours of their exit from AppSumo I upgraded to Tier 4 and I am not looking back. I am done using any other automation platform. Teable is my forever automation tool.

Flexible tool for real needs.

I’m still building my database, but I can already see Teable will cause huge headaches for established competitors. I predict it will be a massive success because the projection is amazing.

I finally feel I can create a tool perfectly adapted to my needs. Most software is just a repository where you spend more time saving data than using it. Here, I can create exact fields for real reports and alerts. I chose Cloud to avoid server risks, and to stay GDPR compliant, I use a hybrid system: "secret codes" in Teable and sensitive data in a separate, compliant app.

It’s a bit more work, but the visual management is worth it. I trust the founder’s honesty; he never made false promises. I’m sure they will add EU servers eventually (due to its growing). If not, I’ll keep using my codes or use it for personal tasks and inventory. No regrets at all here!

I want to thank Leo also for his answers to every doubt.

Frustrated with Teable

After using 15,000 credits, here is my honest opinion of Teable.

Overall, the concept of a database with AI is interesting. It is nice that it can create dashboards from a table you build or upload from a CSV. For small datasets (less than 100 rows), it seems less error prone.

Now the negatives note I used their best model only in my tests (Opus 4.6):

1. It cannot handle large datasets. I added a 30,000-row dataset, and it was unable to follow my instructions to clean or reorganize any of the data. It kept stalling and stopping without doing anything, even though it burned through 1,000 credits every time I tried to click the retry button.
2. The platform is not stable. Multiple times, the AI chat stalled and did not continue following my instructions, even when I tried different use cases. Again, it burned through credits without solving my problem.
3. The credit burn is real. If the mistake is on the AI, why does it consume my credits even when it couldn’t solve my problem? Why don’t we get credits refunded when the AI just stops or stalls?
4. It is very slow. Waiting for the AI to respond or analyze can take over 13 minutes sometimes, and when it stalls and does nothing, this is the most frustrating part as you restart or re ask the same instructions and waste more time.
5. I am pretty good at prompting, but even when the AI follows instructions without stalling, it can hallucinate and sometimes add incorrect or irrelevant information you did not ask for, so you have to double-check every time.
6. I appreciate the upfront credits I got, but I have used them all, and most cases I tried were not successful due to the AI stalling and not following instructions.
7. The context window for the AI is set to 200,000 and you cannot change it. In my opinion, this is too small and could be why the AI stalls with big datasets or certain use cases, since it doesn’t have enough space to cover everything.

I am seriously considering refunding this tool. I am happy some other users have enjoyed it, but for me it has been the complete opposite. Maybe my use cases and datasets are too large to handle, I don’t know, but Teable just did not solve most of my cases.

Update:
@Gary I bought the tool yesterday so Ive used it yesterday and today and I believe this period is post your updates on the models and agents. I did send a support ticket yesterday via Teable but no response from your team, I did check no email in my spam I just got an automated response below but no actual response yet on my issue:

"We will notify you of any status updates. If you have more details about this issue, please reply to this email. To keep this thread focused, kindly avoid unrelated topics—thank you.

Best regards,

Teable Support Team"

Update 2: (Email from them asking me to remove my review)

From: Leo

Hi,

Thanks for sharing these details.

It also looks like our previous follow-up email may not have reached you properly. We had sent it to gather a bit more detail so we could better assess the issue, and I’ll attach that message here as a .eml file as well for reference.

In your case, this appears to be related to an issue we’ve identified where the Agent may get interrupted when handling more complex tasks. The Agent is still in beta, and improving this is now one of our top priorities.

To help us better understand the impact on your side, could you share roughly how much of your prompts the AI was actually completing in practice? For example, was it usually closer to 20%, 50%, or 80% of what you asked? Any additional feedback on where it became unreliable would also be very helpful for us.

Based on the information we have so far, we believe your 2-star review may be related to this issue. If you’re open to it, we’d appreciate you considering removing or updating the review for now while we work on the fix. Once this is improved, we hope you’ll reevaluate your experience with Teable based on the progress we’ve made.

Best regards,

Leo

My reply:

I would say the AI completed 30-50% of the task and got stuck or stopped after that.

In the review, I shared my honest experience. It is not my fault the AI did not work for me, yet I still lost 80% of my credits. So why would I remove my review or give you a 5 star rating? I spent $500 on your tool, which is a lot of money, but you ask me to remove my review? Sorry, that is not fair, Leo or fair on my experience and money spent.

Hi Wonka, so sorry to hear you ran into this. May I ask when you did the testing?

We’ve recently made major improvements to how we handle complex tasks and large files, so there may have been a timing gap. It’s also possible you encountered an occasional looping bug.

We really don’t want to lose you, so please send us a note at [email protected]. We’d love to follow up and see how we can help....

brilliant platform if you're ready to build a business

I provided the builder with a schema and 7 minutes 51 seconds later: Here's its report. It works. Minutes. not days.

All 13 tables are live (2 SOP + 11 schema). Let me do a quick spot-check on the key link fields.
Verify Cases schema
Verify Invoices schema
Everything is wired up correctly. The symmetric link fields were auto-created too — Cases already shows back-links from Leads, Invoices, Case Stage History, Tasks, Documents, and Interactions.
Your relational schema is fully built — 11 linked tables, all FKs wired. Here's the map:

Stage 1 completeness rate — query Stage Quality Metrics where Core Docs Complete = true
Cycle times — Completed At - Started At on Case Stage History
Lead-to-close conversion — Leads status vs. first paid Invoice
Tier upgrade rate — cases with multiple Invoices across service codes
Slice anything by client, year, tier, stage, or team member The Cases table is your 3D hub — every other table points back to it, and the symmetric back-links are already showing.
