This is not a lifetime deal

While I do appreciate the concern for sustainability of the project, the fact that it is not stated anywhere that this is NOT a lifetime deal rubs me the wrong way. I actually bought tier 7 before understanding this fact and will be refunding it shortly.

Here is the TeliportMe answer to it being "silently" a limited deal that will run out of resources:

"The non-renewable storage is due to heavy processing required."

The way this issue should have been dealt with is to put a limit on storage used per month, or a year, after which it would reset and the storage would be recovered. Processing power will only get cheaper, this could totally be done sustainably, maybe with lower limits and with the storage being recoverable.

As it stands now, you create a file, you delete a file and you never get the space back, as that is the way any future processing expenses are limited, since there will be no storage to upload data to be processed.

This storage limit methology should be front and center to warn people away.

Or, again, alternatively the limits should be lower, the system should run on some easily-understood credits that replenish over time. That would be much easier to understand.

The fact this is a use it TO lose it and not being clear about it should not be allowed on AppSumo where people assume they are getting a lifetime deal.

This is a license for only so many uses, that's basically it.

That's like some photo editing program advertising:

A LIFETIME LICENSE!!

And then, below, in fine print:
You can crop up to 50 photos before it stops working...

For anyone reading along, I want to be very clear — our AppSumo listing explicitly states non-recurring storage in the plan limits. This isn’t new or hidden fine print — it’s been exactly the same for the last three AppSumo campaigns over more than 5 years. Thousands of customers have built their businesses on this model, which is reflected in the 90+ five-star reviews from real users in this very campaign.

I understand if this model doesn’t fit someone’s budget, but calling it a “gotcha” ignores the fact that it’s clearly disclosed, widely understood by LTD buyers, and proven to work for thousands of real businesses

The reality is, storage isn’t the bottleneck the way it’s being portrayed. A typical real estate or venue tour is about 150 MB. Even our smaller LTD tiers allow for dozens of tours — enough to run a profitable business for years. Virtual tour platforms operate very differently from editing software: with editing tools, you’re endlessly processing new files; with a tour platform, each project is a billable, long-lived asset that you can update, resell, and upsell (Google Street View, seasonal refreshes, etc.). That’s why our LTD customers consistently generate multiples of their investment in revenue.

I know that in the LTD space, there’s sometimes a tendency for bargain-hunting to push founders — especially early-stage ones — into unsustainable promises that ultimately hurt both the product and the customers who rely on it. As an LTD customer myself, I’ve seen this play out many times. In our case, we’ve been building and shipping Teliportme for over a decade, and we’re already a top-three platform globally. We don’t feel that pressure to “give away the farm” just to make a quick splash — we’d rather be clear, sustainable, and here for the long run.

For us , a lifetime deal means lifetime access to the platform with generous, sustainable limits — not unlimited storage forever.

We’re transparent about this because it’s the only way to keep LTD customers supported long-term without pulling features later.
