I just tried Tevent out as a Google Meet / Zoom replacement.
Pros: - Just copying a link for a meeting is nice, really easy - The workflow for people receiving the meeting link is easy as well, just enter your name, select a webcam and join - The interface is clean, modern and uncluttered
Cons: 1) The button to leave a meeting needs to be pressed twice (as confirmation), this is an interface pattern that is not seen very often and which might confuse users. Here it would be better to either just quit (without confirmation) or show a modal to confirm. 2) BIG CON: For meeting attendees it looks like an account has been created after a meeting. This is super bad! They are forwarded to the Tevent dashboard where they are logged in using whatever name they entered at the beginning of the meeting. I can absolutely not use it like this for client meetings and hope the Tevent team improves the flow. I would expect that after leaving a meeting as an attendee, a minimal screen is shown that makes it clear that the meeting is now over. No dashboard should be shown, it should not be tried to sell the attendees anything or make them use Tevent themselves. In its current form, I cannot use this for meetings with clients, such a pity! Please fix this, without this dashboard forwarding / fake account creation, Tevent would be a great replacement for Zoom / Google Meet! 3) Available actions for attendees: attendees can start recordings and open a Miro board. Would be great if the meeting creator could disable this setting for attendees. In my case, I don’t want attendees to be able to start recordings or open Miro boards. So this is also stopping me from using it with clients.
I am still give 4 stars (even if I cannot use Tevent in its current form), because I have hope that the team will improve my cons above (in this case I will update my review and give 5 stars).
I haven’t looked into how to use Tevent as an events platform, yet, since the meeting functionality is much more important for me.

Thanks for the balanced review, and taking the time to use what we consider to be a secondary (the 1:1/group video meetings) feature.
It was important to us that the Stages (ie. broadcasted webinar format) is our focus, but we also wanted to give users the option to also replace Zoom/Gmeets/Teams with the same platform! We appreciate that there are some improvements that need to be made to get this particular feature up to par.
Regarding your questions:
1) Double confirmation - We made this decision as we often find it is too easy to accidentally quit calls in other platforms! However, I can see how this might be a step too far and will feed it back to the Dev team for (re)consideration 🙂
2) Attendees are automatically given a guest account - Thank you for feeding this back, and we will assess the flow for a 'one-off' use case where the attendee is unlikely to continue using Tevent as an organiser.
3) Attendees have organiser permissions for some actions - We agree that in some cases, the organiser won't want the attendee to have such permissions. We are actively looking into including more configuration options to give the meeting organiser the choice here.
We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to implementing the changes to get us from 4* -> 5* in your eyes 😊
I was a bit sceptical having bought a few online events and video conferencing software previously searching for a Zoom replacement only to be disappointed. Most of these software are touch and go, but Tevent completely exceeds my expectations. I was surprised to see how user-friendly and seamless the platform is, something I don't take for granted after years of searching.
One least discussed feature but important to point out is the ability to re-broadcast the event to multiple platforms at the same time (and doing it very smoothly too). Streaming to LinkedIn live is also very stable, which until Tevent, only big mainstream platforms like Restream.io can do excellently.
I know I made several requests about CNAME (which is still incredibly important for my business). But even without it, I found the platform is already rich in features and incredibly robust.
There are also comments by others to suggest including an evergreen webinar feature but for me this will actually take the platform in a very different direction. The centre of Tevent strength is its live event features and I believe this is what Tevent should be focusing on.
One tip I do like to suggest is when you guys finally roll out CNAME, please ensure attendee registration and accounts are also white-labelled. Some AppSumo deals allow CNAME but do not completely white-label the user experience. Logos, emails, registration page are still branded with the original branding. Once you have this, I'm sure you'll overtake Zoom, and Gotowebinar, in no time.

Re: CNAME - this is one of the most commonly requested features which is a high priority for us in early 2023, alongside advanced whitelabeling options as you mentioned. We understand that this will put us in a strong competitive position and will be working on these features very soon!

So, I went through the platform and here's what I like:
* Quick calls (meetings without the need to schedule them - just share the links, similar to google meets. * Scheduled meetings * And tons of options for delivering great Webinars. * The docs. They put a lot of effort into them and this means you can answer any questions about how to achieve something just by searching for it in the docs.
So, the great thing is, as someone else has already mentioned, the platform seems to cover a loooot of use cases, which is great for us. Less platforms - less overhead.
Here's what we need for the product to REALLY work for us. The team seems to be on top of at least some of these, judging by comments here:
* We absolutely need Tevent to be in German * Quick call would be even better with an option to reset (or even automatically reset) the chat etc. for a given links. So we could just reuse the link for meetings with different people with a clean slate (such as emptying chat history etc.) * Create recurring events, eg. for a weekly course with the same class

Regarding your questions:
* Tevent in German language - We are looking into different ways that we can deliver non-English language options. Stay tuned for more on this in 2023!
* Quick call would be even better with an option to reset the chat - We are looking into releasing a new feature that enables the automatic creation of unique quick call links (for integrating with Calendly or meeting booking tools, for example). In the meantime, you can 'Schedule a Meeting' for each separate session instead, which will be totally unique and therefore not carry over any previous chat messages/activity.
* Create recurring events, eg. for a weekly course with the same class - This is on our short-term roadmap and will be released in Q1'23 🙂

I definitely think that Tevent has a lot of upside potential and I like the options it gives me, although some of the setup process takes some getting used to, which is true of most software. There are some good options for events although on a webinar, Tevent automatically sets up a breakout room and you must manually delete it if you do not want it. No big deal, but it usually works the other way around. For free events, Tevent seems like a good solution.
Where I run into issues is with paid webinars, which is the bulk of what I do. Tevent requires you to set up a new Stripe account, with no option to use an existing Stripe account. I do not want to set up a new Stripe account, but this is the only option. Unless this gets fixed, I may need to refund since paid events is my main use case and setting up a new Stripe account just to use with Tevent is a big no-go for me. I've submitted an inquiry on this to technical support, so I will see if they can resolve the issue.

Please allow me to respond to some of your feedback and concerns.
- On automatically setting up a breakout room and needing to delete it: This is only when using one of our Optional Event Templates, which are made to fit certain use cases for faster Event creation (Webinar, Conference, Workshop and Social). Templates aren’t a different type of Event, but just an Event that has been set up in a certain configuration by default. You still have all the same customizability as you would if you did not use a template. You can also create an Event without a template, by clicking “New Event” in the top left of the Tevent Dashboard and choosing “Custom Event”. This Event will be created without any predetermined Rooms or Stages, for you to set up as you please.
- On requiring to set up a new Stripe account, with no option to use an existing Stripe account: We use Stripe Express, which unfortunately does not allow you to use a pre-existing Stripe account. For transparency, we are aware that this is an issue for some, and the development team is looking into some solutions. Unfortunately, it does appear to be a larger and more complicated change, so we can’t currently make any promises, but we’d advise you to keep an eye out on our public roadmap available at http://roadmap.tevent.com for updates.
- On only allowing GBP with no option to change the currency: Similar to the above, we’re aware that this is a concern for some, and are looking into ways to remedy this. The dev team expects that this should be a more straightforward change than the Stripe Account issue, so again, please keep an eye on the public roadmap!
Please note that whilst all of the above may not be on our public roadmap at this point in time, they are all on our internal backlog for review, and once we’re able to confirm our ability to implement them within a reasonable time frame, they will be added to our public roadmap!
We’ll be sad to see you go if we’re not able to perfectly fit your use case at this point in time, but we’ll be working behind the scenes to make sure that we win you back!

I wasn't planning on buying on anything during Black Friday, but here we go Tevent got me to spend dollars.
Here's what I like... - The tool suits almost any form of video meeting need I can think of. - It's well designed (not like Zoom and Teams which always seem to add more complexity ) - All the tools (voting, survey, questions) you would usually need to get elsewhere or at additional cost are easy to access - It just works! (Yes, I have Zoom nightmares)
What would make me move this to 5 stars? - The current set-up of Stages, Rooms and Tables seems to be overkill for some of my use cases. I'd love to create Meetings directly within an Event. I imagine an Event could be one of my programs which spans over 2 months, each week I will have 1 meeting with a small group of the same people. Like a course or a mastermind. Currently, I would end the event in 2 months but in the future, I would probably sell a mastermind with a monthly meeting for 12 months in duration. - Dedicated assignment of people to tables is essential for some projects (part of workshop facilitation is assigning the right people to each table). - For some projects I do a detailed participant list with log-in times and log-out times is required before the client releases funds. A detailed log would be helpful for these events. - Some of the Stage tools should also be available at table and meeting room level, such as surveys and questions. - There's currently no way to reach support besides shooting your question into a black hole. A chat option would be really helpful. - Although I like the colours of the app, I wouldn't want to have my clients see these colours. - Already mentioned in my comments, there's a HUGE opportunity to blend heartbeat.chat and Tevent together, which would probably make it the best community tool on the planet. - Is it possible to allow someone to ask their question on camera during a Stage event? (I haven't been able to verify this).
The tool is not there for all use cases yet, but it looks very promising. I'm excited to see you grow!

Your suggestions have indeed been very helpful! Here’s some additional information we thought might be helpful.
- On meetings within Events: For now, our Events are designed with Stages, Rooms and Tables to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. We understand that this might not be suitable for every use case, and are looking at ways to simplify the structure for more straightforward Events, or Events that only use one session.
- On assigning people to Tables: There is no way to pre-assign people to tables or rooms currently — so this is indeed something we’re considering to add. For now, it’s easy to signpost tables with names to simply direct people - you can also share links to specific tables to make the flow even more seamless. I.e. if you share the link to Table X with a User, when they click it they’ll head straight to the Table (so no confusion about other tables).
- On detailed reports: Noted! We will add this to our analytics discussions. Currently, we provide cumulative analytics so as not to breach any anonymity in the data collected, but we will consider this if it surfaces as a crucial requirement for organisers (while, of course, safeguarding attendee data).
- On Stage tools being available in Rooms: This is very valuable feedback, some of these features are already on our internal backlog for review, I’ll add the rest and encourage you to keep an eye out on our roadmap (https://roadmap.tevent.com/) for updates.
- On reaching support: We do have a live chat option to speak to a member of our team. You can access this by clicking the '?' icon at the bottom left of the Tevent dashboard, or by heading to our support page (https://support.tevent.com/) and clicking the Chat bubble button on the bottom right!
- On custom branding: Custom branding, including fonts, colours, etc. is currently on the backlog of our public roadmap, which you can browse at: https://roadmap.tevent.com/
- On integrating heartbeat.chat: This has been a common thread amongst LTD users, so it’s definitely something we will have a look at internally.
- On bringing an attendee on Stage: During a Stage session, Organisers and Presenters with Stage Permissions (Present & Edit) are able to add new presenters to the Stage. Simply click the Profile Icon with a Plus next to the Cogwheel icon on the bottom left of the Stage, enter the user’s name, set the level of permissions (I recommend ‘Present Only’) and they will be able to join the Stage to ask their question. You can then remove their permissions.
Don't want to miss this gem - has huge huge potential
I am from a top-ranked university and events are among the most common things we do. We are always on the hunt for platforms, tools, and applications that can automate all the work around events: announce and get the word out, espl. on social media, create websites and mind the SEO and rankings on search, funnels to convert the curious to registrants, work with the presenters, send out communications to all involved, etc etc.
The point is, we know all there is to know about events and we conduct hundreds of them. With that experience, I was thrilled to see Tevent on AppSumo and can confidently say that Tevent is going to be a primary tool I will be using a lot. I have already stacked up on the max with 10 codes, and I might buy another set before the black friday is over.
Why, because it has potential. It can be a killer app that can replace atleast a couple at a fraction of the cost.
So if you are into events or plan to conduct events of any sort: tutorials, marketing, webinars, conferences, seminars, real-estate show and tell, coaching and more importantly, want to build a COMMUNITY around your events, get Tevent.
There are not many reviews now, but this is a hidden gem on AppSumo and you might very well regret it if you let this one slip. Tevent is under active development and I am excited to see what 2023 will bring.
Tevent has got venture funding and is from a well-meaning team in the UK. Ahmed's enthusiasm is evident and I wish the team all the very best. I am sure you guys will make us, early adopters proud.

As you pointed out, Events are meant to be as malleable as possible for your use case: webinars, workshops, networking events, conferences, and more. Also, Spaces allow communities to get together in one permanent online location where all related Events can be held.
We are indeed a small, but growing team, and are really keen to improve the platform to meet our customers' needs. The extensive feedback we've received here from Sumo-lings has been invaluable to us -- and we've made some progress in addressing them as well! I purchased Tevent. It looks quite promising for the start. There are real chances to help me grow my digital business. I give 5 stars with the assumption that a clear product roadmap will be provided and, with high priority, the following features will be addressed: mobile access, video camera background/blur and strict permissions on session recording only for host/plus a clear video reply or download control after recording.

1) The paid versions should NOT have Tevent branding all over, it is common for the free plans but not on the paid versions. Could they be limited?
2) Add the feature for hosts/event managers to disable the ability for guests/attendees to record.
3) Ability for CName/White labeling for the paid version.
4) Ability to have call to actions, payment processing and upsells on each event.
5) Ability to customize the look and colors to match personal branding.

4) Can you provide some more info on how you would want these items to appear within the Event / Stage / Room views? CTAs that appear as a banner underneath the presenter in Stages is on our short-term roadmap.
5) Customisation of various pages and external (email) communications is on our medium-term roadmap.

I was looking for a webinar/meeting solution for our online cohorts of students, and I found it on AppSumo. I think it's an excellent product. It's clean, simple and with a lot of possibilities.
The main reason that I purchased it is the Tevent team. They're very prompt to answer any questions, and since the product is relatively new, they listen and are motivated to make it the best product. I'm sure the next few months will see the product grow in terms of features.
If you read the different questions and reviews, you'll see how they are reactive and what are on their list of new features for Tevent.
I'm more than happy to be on this adventure with them. I bought 2 codes, and I'm considering buying more ! I'm sure Tevent will be a major asset in the future for any online business who want to connect with their audience !

It was the professional behavior of the Tevent team that initially caught my attention. When it comes to LTDs, I always choose products with a professional team behind them because this indicates whether the product can be sustained for a while.
I normally try a software for a couple of days before making a purchase decision, but with this one I bought right away! And I am not regretting that decision because the product meets my expectations.
Even though the tool is relatively new and needs some refinement, I will stick with them and watch them grow as they continue to improve it.
Anyone who needs a meeting or webinar app now or in the near future should definitely consider this.

Although promosing, there are some features missing that I would need to see added before we could fully adopt the platform: - Branding & Customization: being able to edit the color palette of the space/event. Customize emails with text/logos/links. Upload logos to space/event/emails. Customize link of events (not just space) - "Simple Space": Option to have attendees join automatically as guests (not being prompted to Log-in or making it the second option, not the first). Remove Top Bar and disable chat from dashboard. Essentially limiting their functions in a Space / Event to keep it simple. - CSV Import/Export: bulk download CSV of all analytics (as opposed to individual exports). Load CSV of hosts/presenters/organisers (not just attendees). Upload CSV of members to space. - Event resources: Ability to attach relevent PDFs / images / documents to spaces/events for members/attendees to download. - Post-Event Survey: display either built-in or third-party survey to attendees upon exiting the event and/or include it in post-event email. - Event Reminders: Ability to customize event reminders to be auto sent on set schedule.
Some feature that would be beneficial but not necessarily required for us to move forward are: - White labeling / CNAME: reduce or remove Tevent branding. Host space on custom domain. Send emails from custom address. - Link events to multiple spaces (for cross promotion) - API to integrate/embed with Wordpress - Event Controls: ability to end screensharing of other participant in meeting. Remote Support (taking over someone's screen they are sharing). Global view (control attendees views based on host).
Is there a public roadmap we can follow and/or are any of these features already in development?

Many of the items you mention are already on our backlog, and some are in active development too (eg. Event reminders, further customisation & branding flexibility, APIs). More on this very soon, once we release our public roadmap.
FYI - It is possible to limit attendee permission/interactions, and to remove the top bar containing the profiles of active audience members. This can be found within your Event management console under Settings -> Permissions -> Attendees Visibility. You can also control chat interactions within the Stage itself by clicking the setting wheel (bottom-left corner) -> Show More button -> Audience Reactions.

Ok first off I need to say that his review is for both the customer and the company. I believe transparency and clarity when doing business and I think this may be lacking here. THE STORY: I bought two codes of this product and have checked it out. As an App Sumo Plus member I feel I need to warn prospective buyers that the conferencing template is locked off from anyone who has not bought three codes and this is not stated in the marketing anywhere. What is stated is that two codes gets you events for two hours even though the concept of events is not really explained. I contacted support and I was told that I need to buy another code in order to utilize the conference template. Not Good!!!
For the staff of Tevents, I want you to know that when a customer purchases a product with a limitation and finds out after the fact when they are actually using the product and are then forced to upgrade to get functionality, it does not digest well.
I am now forced to decide whether I want to run into another one of these limitations or refund. You have a good product but no....this does not feel right. I guess I need to mull this over for a couple of days. Thank you for the submission.

Firstly, I’d like to clarify for yourself and the broader userbase what you are referring to here 😊
When creating an Event on Tevent, you have 2 options. You can either use a Template (ie. The ‘Conference’ template that you attempted to use, ‘Workshop’, etc), OR you can create a Custom Event. It is important to note that these Templates are simply pre-configuration a, or examples, of Event structures that you can build on Tevent. Using a template *does not* provide access to any additional features or modular upgrades.
The ’Conference’ template simply sets up 3 Stages and 3 Rooms, in a particular order and with a pre-set length, in a few clicks so you can get a jump-start on configuring the various sessions within your Event. (PS. For more info on these session types, check out our latest blog post here: https://www.tevent.com/blog/get-acquainted-with-tevent).
@caribinfinity - The ‘Conference’ default length is 3 hours, and with the 2x codes you had purchased, you are able to run lengths of max. 2 hours. This is where the issue arose I believe?
It is possible to adjust the total length of the ‘Conference’, and bring it down to 2 hours, before clicking the Create Event button. This is what we’d recommend in your case. Alternatively, you can create a Custom Event from scratch, and build out the Stages & Rooms to your requirements.
When my colleague mentioned that you’d need to upgrade to 3x codes, this wasn’t clear enough and I take full responsibility for this as their manager. Apologies!
As the team leader, I have ensured that we are clearer on this type of enquiry in the future. First things first: this is a really cool platform with high potential. It's playful, fun, and you have many possibilities to use it. In my opinion, these are their strongest an unique features: 🌮 spaces and rooms – playgrounds for groups, memberships, networking 🌮 you can create multiple spaces for different groups – great 🌮 ability to broadcast per space – great 🌮 "Teleport"-feature – ability to move entire groups to a specific room, event or meeting and last but not least: 🌮 you can monetize your events through Stripe, without Tevent taking any further fees
So here are already five tacos, and I give these five tacos to Tevent without restriction, because I believe in their potential.
Ok and now some negative aspects. GDPR compliance and privacy: yes, there are some big, fat issues by now. Let's see and try to look at it in a positive way 😉 Some good news: If you want to use Tevent really GDPR- and Privacy-compliant for yourself and your guests, you (almost) can achieve that. But you have to actively search and find the ways and the hidden "where"s in order to get there (that's the bad news). You can influence the following points: ⚙️ deactivate cookies going to your own account/preferences/data&privacy ⚙️ set every space, room and event to "not listed" (otherwise you are visible everywhere) ⚙️ set the permissions of your spaces as restrictive as possible in order to prevent your guests to do things you don't want them to do ℹ️ inform your guests, that they can watch your events as guests AND that they can prevent Tevent to create an account for them. In order to prevent account-creation, they have to exit the event by clicking on "log-out" button TWICE, confirming TWICE that they do NOT want Tevent to create an account. ℹ️ advise your guests to uncheck the marketing-news-box in case they do sign up an account with Tevent And then there remains this privacy issue, that you cannot influence: 👎 the visibility of the account-name to ALL Tevent users. Yes, that's a big no-go regarding good privacy practise. And that is nothing that you can change yourself. Well, you can achieve some privacy by choosing account names like 463585749373537. Not so cool? Yup, you're right.
😐 Another thing to consider: in a call or a meeting, every user (means, your guests too) can record the session. Everybody then gets a message "recording has started" – without previous ask for consent (another no-go from privacy point of view). Every participant can stop the recording at any time. That's okay, but does it really make sense, that every participant can decide whether or not the session is recorded?
Overall: Very cool platform. I like it and I would like to keep it. But as an European User, I seriously have to follow GDPR and good privacy practise 😉 If Tevent will fix those privacy issues, then I'm in.

Regarding your Cons:
1-on-1 Call Lag - This is something we thought we'd fixed after heavy testing pre-launch, but thanks for highlighting it to us. Could you please provide us with more information (eg. A video or screenshot showing your browser's console) so we can help to get this fixed for you? The best way to do this is via our chat support on the lower-right corner of the Tevent app or website.
Mobile compatibility - This is currently being developed and will be available by the end of 2022. We've got a big update coming on the Appsumo deal page (later this week), which will provide more roadmap details and a preview of the mobile app.
Please do continue to use the platform and let us know if you encounter any issues, we're on hand to get them fixed and support our users to the best of our ability.
When I saw "Alternative to Airmeet" I got super excited!
//PROS - I love the layout and user interface, its easy to learn when you play around with it for about an hour. I also think the UI and UX is way better than Airmeet.
- I have not reached out to support, but what I hear is they are good at responding.
- I do like the "spaces" and events within spaces. This is really cool and useful for organizing those events within specific type of spaces.
- I do love how this seems to be able to take place of Demio, and other webinar type platforms. Saves us about $100 a month since we use Demio and will be transferring i think.
// CONS - This is where things get... Weird. Why can guests, and even users search and see ALL tevent users? My guests should not be able to see every one of your users.. This I think is a SERIOUS privacy issue, especially if our competitors are using the same platform.
- Our guests are essentially forced into a Tevent account. I know Airmeet is the same, but why? Why cant a guest just be able to attend without you guys creating an account for them?
- Guests are limited to 100 tickets a month. Look, I get the marketing to users and potentially an additional revenue stream from your users guests, but limiting this (even though I think its a high limit) is very weird. If no one is going to be attending 100 events in a given month, why even have those credits? Or are the credits more for them to host their own events? Im very confused at this part and why users are essentially pushed to purchase credits or a premium account.
- Branding: While you can add your logo and such, I think the Tevent branding is a bit... much... Its everywhere, even to guests.
- Minor bugs. I experienced a random "unknown" file download (using safari) when I went to go look at an event as a guest. This is very weird, and concerning on what this random file that's downloading is.
- Guest process- The process for guests to actually get to your space is a bit convoluted. Not a deal breaker, but still a roadblock for some.
//OVERALL I think this platform has potential. I think there should be some review of some of the above, and absolutely removing the ability for users to essentially search and see all of your users of Tevent. Ive never seen that and its quite bizarre to me and a privacy concern.
Other than that, I think i will keep this for now, and hopefully see some major improvements made with the investments you will get from AS users.

We pride ourselves on our ability to react to our customers' feedback and needs. To that end, please see some comments/clarifications below that might help clear up your concerns:
PROS:
- Thanks for the kind words in comparison to tools like Airmeet and Demio. We're aiming to be a viable and more cost-effective alternative to these tools (and others), particularly in the webinar / broadcasted event use case.
- I've given my team (Customer Success) a big pat on the back for their work in answering over 100 questions across the Appsumo page and in-app chatbot last week. Great to hear that their hard work hasn't gone unnoticed by the community 😊
CONS:
Global search and user visibility - We're aware of the GDPR and privacy implications here, and will be fixing this as a matter of priority. As mentioned before, as a mostly tech-focussed team, we'll be looking to bring in a legal expert to help us navigate this!
Guests attending events - It is possible for a guest to attend an event without needing to create an account (although we do encourage our Organisers to suggest that their guest Attendees create an account, as this improves the user experience and analytics/engagement capability of the platform).
To enable Guest Access: * Please ensure that 'Guest Access' is set to ON (in the Registration -> Privacy page of your Event Management dashboard)
Guests being limited to 100 Ticket Credits – The second part of your comment here is correct, these Ticket Credits for guests/free users are for them to *run their own events as an Organiser*. We do *not* restrict the number of events that your audience can register for / attend. We’re looking at how to make this clearer in our Appsumo page update later this week.
Branding – We’re discussing the use of Tevent branding across the site, and how to reduce this to a level that makes more sense for our users, whilst also enabling us to get the visibility we need as a small and growing business. Stay tuned for an update on the Appsumo deal page soon!
Unknown file download – Our Dev team is looking into this, as it seems to be Safari specific. Rest assured, this file is *not* malicious and will be removed from our product ASAP.
Guest Space access – We’re reviewing the user flow here to ensure the redirect takes place effectively, once the link is clicked.
FINALLY:
Please keep using the platform! We will be making vast improvements by reinvesting the Appsumo revenue, as well as many features that are already on our roadmap for release before Christmas (eg. Mobile apps).

Potential Zoom / Google Meet Replacement
I just tried Tevent out as a Google Meet / Zoom replacement.
Pros:
- Just copying a link for a meeting is nice, really easy
- The workflow for people receiving the meeting link is easy as well, just enter your name, select a webcam and join
- The interface is clean, modern and uncluttered
Cons:
1) The button to leave a meeting needs to be pressed twice (as confirmation), this is an interface pattern that is not seen very often and which might confuse users. Here it would be better to either just quit (without confirmation) or show a modal to confirm.
2) BIG CON: For meeting attendees it looks like an account has been created after a meeting. This is super bad! They are forwarded to the Tevent dashboard where they are logged in using whatever name they entered at the beginning of the meeting. I can absolutely not use it like this for client meetings and hope the Tevent team improves the flow. I would expect that after leaving a meeting as an attendee, a minimal screen is shown that makes it clear that the meeting is now over. No dashboard should be shown, it should not be tried to sell the attendees anything or make them use Tevent themselves. In its current form, I cannot use this for meetings with clients, such a pity! Please fix this, without this dashboard forwarding / fake account creation, Tevent would be a great replacement for Zoom / Google Meet!
3) Available actions for attendees: attendees can start recordings and open a Miro board. Would be great if the meeting creator could disable this setting for attendees. In my case, I don’t want attendees to be able to start recordings or open Miro boards. So this is also stopping me from using it with clients.
I am still give 4 stars (even if I cannot use Tevent in its current form), because I have hope that the team will improve my cons above (in this case I will update my review and give 5 stars).
I haven’t looked into how to use Tevent as an events platform, yet, since the meeting functionality is much more important for me.

Thanks for the balanced review, and taking the time to use what we consider to be a secondary (the 1:1/group video meetings) feature.
It was important to us that the Stages (ie. broadcasted webinar format) is our focus, but we also wanted to give users the option to also replace Zoom/Gmeets/Teams with the same platform! We appreciate that there are some improvements that need to be made to get this particular feature up to par.
Regarding your questions:
1) Double confirmation - We made this decision as we often find it is too easy to accidentally quit calls in other platforms! However, I can see how this might be a step too far and will feed it back to the Dev team for (re)consideration 🙂
2) Attendees are automatically given a guest account - Thank you for feeding this back, and we will assess the flow for a 'one-off' use case where the attendee is unlikely to continue using Tevent as an organiser.
3) Attendees have organiser permissions for some actions - We agree that in some cases, the organiser won't want the attendee to have such permissions. We are actively looking into including more configuration options to give the meeting organiser the choice here.
We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to implementing the changes to get us from 4* -> 5* in your eyes 😊

Feature rich, smooth and seamless
I was a bit sceptical having bought a few online events and video conferencing software previously searching for a Zoom replacement only to be disappointed. Most of these software are touch and go, but Tevent completely exceeds my expectations. I was surprised to see how user-friendly and seamless the platform is, something I don't take for granted after years of searching.
One least discussed feature but important to point out is the ability to re-broadcast the event to multiple platforms at the same time (and doing it very smoothly too). Streaming to LinkedIn live is also very stable, which until Tevent, only big mainstream platforms like Restream.io can do excellently.
I know I made several requests about CNAME (which is still incredibly important for my business). But even without it, I found the platform is already rich in features and incredibly robust.
There are also comments by others to suggest including an evergreen webinar feature but for me this will actually take the platform in a very different direction. The centre of Tevent strength is its live event features and I believe this is what Tevent should be focusing on.
One tip I do like to suggest is when you guys finally roll out CNAME, please ensure attendee registration and accounts are also white-labelled. Some AppSumo deals allow CNAME but do not completely white-label the user experience. Logos, emails, registration page are still branded with the original branding. Once you have this, I'm sure you'll overtake Zoom, and Gotowebinar, in no time.

I stacked up
So, I went through the platform and here's what I like:
* Quick calls (meetings without the need to schedule them - just share the links, similar to google meets.
* Scheduled meetings
* And tons of options for delivering great Webinars.
* The docs. They put a lot of effort into them and this means you can answer any questions about how to achieve something just by searching for it in the docs.
So, the great thing is, as someone else has already mentioned, the platform seems to cover a loooot of use cases, which is great for us. Less platforms - less overhead.
Here's what we need for the product to REALLY work for us. The team seems to be on top of at least some of these, judging by comments here:
* We absolutely need Tevent to be in German
* Quick call would be even better with an option to reset (or even automatically reset) the chat etc. for a given links. So we could just reuse the link for meetings with different people with a clean slate (such as emptying chat history etc.)
* Create recurring events, eg. for a weekly course with the same class

* Tevent in German language - We are looking into different ways that we can deliver non-English language options. Stay tuned for more on this in 2023!
* Quick call would be even better with an option to reset the chat - We are looking into releasing a new feature that enables the automatic creation of unique quick call links (for integrating with Calendly or meeting booking tools, for example). In the meantime, you can 'Schedule a Meeting' for each separate session instead, which will be totally unique and therefore not carry over any previous chat messages/activity.
* Create recurring events, eg. for a weekly course with the same class - This is on our short-term roadmap and will be released in Q1'23 🙂

Good for free webinars
I definitely think that Tevent has a lot of upside potential and I like the options it gives me, although some of the setup process takes some getting used to, which is true of most software. There are some good options for events although on a webinar, Tevent automatically sets up a breakout room and you must manually delete it if you do not want it. No big deal, but it usually works the other way around. For free events, Tevent seems like a good solution.
Where I run into issues is with paid webinars, which is the bulk of what I do. Tevent requires you to set up a new Stripe account, with no option to use an existing Stripe account. I do not want to set up a new Stripe account, but this is the only option. Unless this gets fixed, I may need to refund since paid events is my main use case and setting up a new Stripe account just to use with Tevent is a big no-go for me. I've submitted an inquiry on this to technical support, so I will see if they can resolve the issue.

Please allow me to respond to some of your feedback and concerns.
- On automatically setting up a breakout room and needing to delete it: This is only when using one of our Optional Event Templates, which are made to fit certain use cases for faster Event creation (Webinar, Conference, Workshop and Social). Templates aren’t a different type of Event, but just an Event that has been set up in a certain configuration by default. You still have all the same customizability as you would if you did not use a template. You can also create an Event without a template, by clicking “New Event” in the top left of the Tevent Dashboard and choosing “Custom Event”. This Event will be created without any predetermined Rooms or Stages, for you to set up as you please.
- On requiring to set up a new Stripe account, with no option to use an existing Stripe account: We use Stripe Express, which unfortunately does not allow you to use a pre-existing Stripe account. For transparency, we are aware that this is an issue for some, and the development team is looking into some solutions. Unfortunately, it does appear to be a larger and more complicated change, so we can’t currently make any promises, but we’d advise you to keep an eye out on our public roadmap available at http://roadmap.tevent.com for updates.
- On only allowing GBP with no option to change the currency: Similar to the above, we’re aware that this is a concern for some, and are looking into ways to remedy this. The dev team expects that this should be a more straightforward change than the Stripe Account issue, so again, please keep an eye on the public roadmap!
Please note that whilst all of the above may not be on our public roadmap at this point in time, they are all on our internal backlog for review, and once we’re able to confirm our ability to implement them within a reasonable time frame, they will be added to our public roadmap!
We’ll be sad to see you go if we’re not able to perfectly fit your use case at this point in time, but we’ll be working behind the scenes to make sure that we win you back!

Great Product, exciting to see what this brings in the future.
I wasn't planning on buying on anything during Black Friday, but here we go Tevent got me to spend dollars.
Here's what I like...
- The tool suits almost any form of video meeting need I can think of.
- It's well designed (not like Zoom and Teams which always seem to add more complexity )
- All the tools (voting, survey, questions) you would usually need to get elsewhere or at additional cost are easy to access
- It just works! (Yes, I have Zoom nightmares)
What would make me move this to 5 stars?
- The current set-up of Stages, Rooms and Tables seems to be overkill for some of my use cases. I'd love to create Meetings directly within an Event. I imagine an Event could be one of my programs which spans over 2 months, each week I will have 1 meeting with a small group of the same people. Like a course or a mastermind. Currently, I would end the event in 2 months but in the future, I would probably sell a mastermind with a monthly meeting for 12 months in duration.
- Dedicated assignment of people to tables is essential for some projects (part of workshop facilitation is assigning the right people to each table).
- For some projects I do a detailed participant list with log-in times and log-out times is required before the client releases funds. A detailed log would be helpful for these events.
- Some of the Stage tools should also be available at table and meeting room level, such as surveys and questions.
- There's currently no way to reach support besides shooting your question into a black hole. A chat option would be really helpful.
- Although I like the colours of the app, I wouldn't want to have my clients see these colours.
- Already mentioned in my comments, there's a HUGE opportunity to blend heartbeat.chat and Tevent together, which would probably make it the best community tool on the planet.
- Is it possible to allow someone to ask their question on camera during a Stage event? (I haven't been able to verify this).
The tool is not there for all use cases yet, but it looks very promising. I'm excited to see you grow!

Your suggestions have indeed been very helpful! Here’s some additional information we thought might be helpful.
- On meetings within Events: For now, our Events are designed with Stages, Rooms and Tables to accommodate a wide variety of use cases. We understand that this might not be suitable for every use case, and are looking at ways to simplify the structure for more straightforward Events, or Events that only use one session.
- On assigning people to Tables: There is no way to pre-assign people to tables or rooms currently — so this is indeed something we’re considering to add. For now, it’s easy to signpost tables with names to simply direct people - you can also share links to specific tables to make the flow even more seamless. I.e. if you share the link to Table X with a User, when they click it they’ll head straight to the Table (so no confusion about other tables).
- On detailed reports: Noted! We will add this to our analytics discussions. Currently, we provide cumulative analytics so as not to breach any anonymity in the data collected, but we will consider this if it surfaces as a crucial requirement for organisers (while, of course, safeguarding attendee data).
- On Stage tools being available in Rooms: This is very valuable feedback, some of these features are already on our internal backlog for review, I’ll add the rest and encourage you to keep an eye out on our roadmap (https://roadmap.tevent.com/) for updates.
- On reaching support: We do have a live chat option to speak to a member of our team. You can access this by clicking the '?' icon at the bottom left of the Tevent dashboard, or by heading to our support page (https://support.tevent.com/) and clicking the Chat bubble button on the bottom right!
- On custom branding: Custom branding, including fonts, colours, etc. is currently on the backlog of our public roadmap, which you can browse at: https://roadmap.tevent.com/
- On integrating heartbeat.chat: This has been a common thread amongst LTD users, so it’s definitely something we will have a look at internally.
- On bringing an attendee on Stage: During a Stage session, Organisers and Presenters with Stage Permissions (Present & Edit) are able to add new presenters to the Stage. Simply click the Profile Icon with a Plus next to the Cogwheel icon on the bottom left of the Stage, enter the user’s name, set the level of permissions (I recommend ‘Present Only’) and they will be able to join the Stage to ask their question. You can then remove their permissions.

Don't want to miss this gem - has huge huge potential
I am from a top-ranked university and events are among the most common things we do. We are always on the hunt for platforms, tools, and applications that can automate all the work around events: announce and get the word out, espl. on social media, create websites and mind the SEO and rankings on search, funnels to convert the curious to registrants, work with the presenters, send out communications to all involved, etc etc.
The point is, we know all there is to know about events and we conduct hundreds of them. With that experience, I was thrilled to see Tevent on AppSumo and can confidently say that Tevent is going to be a primary tool I will be using a lot. I have already stacked up on the max with 10 codes, and I might buy another set before the black friday is over.
Why, because it has potential. It can be a killer app that can replace atleast a couple at a fraction of the cost.
So if you are into events or plan to conduct events of any sort: tutorials, marketing, webinars, conferences, seminars, real-estate show and tell, coaching and more importantly, want to build a COMMUNITY around your events, get Tevent.
There are not many reviews now, but this is a hidden gem on AppSumo and you might very well regret it if you let this one slip. Tevent is under active development and I am excited to see what 2023 will bring.
Tevent has got venture funding and is from a well-meaning team in the UK. Ahmed's enthusiasm is evident and I wish the team all the very best. I am sure you guys will make us, early adopters proud.

As you pointed out, Events are meant to be as malleable as possible for your use case: webinars, workshops, networking events, conferences, and more. Also, Spaces allow communities to get together in one permanent online location where all related Events can be held.
We are indeed a small, but growing team, and are really keen to improve the platform to meet our customers' needs. 1) The paid versions should NOT have Tevent branding all over, it is common for the free plans but not on the paid versions. Could they be limited?

4) Can you provide some more info on how you would want these items to appear within the Event / Stage / Room views? CTAs that appear as a banner underneath the presenter in Stages is on our short-term roadmap.
5) Customisation of various pages and external (email) communications is on our medium-term roadmap.

Excellent solution with a lot of potential
I was looking for a webinar/meeting solution for our online cohorts of students, and I found it on AppSumo. I think it's an excellent product. It's clean, simple and with a lot of possibilities.
The main reason that I purchased it is the Tevent team. They're very prompt to answer any questions, and since the product is relatively new, they listen and are motivated to make it the best product. I'm sure the next few months will see the product grow in terms of features.
If you read the different questions and reviews, you'll see how they are reactive and what are on their list of new features for Tevent.

An excellent purchase for me.
It was the professional behavior of the Tevent team that initially caught my attention. When it comes to LTDs, I always choose products with a professional team behind them because this indicates whether the product can be sustained for a while.
I normally try a software for a couple of days before making a purchase decision, but with this one I bought right away! And I am not regretting that decision because the product meets my expectations.
Even though the tool is relatively new and needs some refinement, I will stick with them and watch them grow as they continue to improve it.

- Branding & Customization: being able to edit the color palette of the space/event. Customize emails with text/logos/links. Upload logos to space/event/emails. Customize link of events (not just space)
- "Simple Space": Option to have attendees join automatically as guests (not being prompted to Log-in or making it the second option, not the first). Remove Top Bar and disable chat from dashboard. Essentially limiting their functions in a Space / Event to keep it simple.
- CSV Import/Export: bulk download CSV of all analytics (as opposed to individual exports). Load CSV of hosts/presenters/organisers (not just attendees). Upload CSV of members to space.
- Event resources: Ability to attach relevent PDFs / images / documents to spaces/events for members/attendees to download.
- Post-Event Survey: display either built-in or third-party survey to attendees upon exiting the event and/or include it in post-event email.
- Event Reminders: Ability to customize event reminders to be auto sent on set schedule.
Some feature that would be beneficial but not necessarily required for us to move forward are:
- White labeling / CNAME: reduce or remove Tevent branding. Host space on custom domain. Send emails from custom address.
- Link events to multiple spaces (for cross promotion)
- API to integrate/embed with Wordpress
- Event Controls: ability to end screensharing of other participant in meeting. Remote Support (taking over someone's screen they are sharing). Global view (control attendees views based on host).
Is there a public roadmap we can follow and/or are any of these features already in development?

Thank you for this comprehensive feedback - we take user feedback very seriously here at Tevent and we'll be ensuring that these items reach the Dev team for consideration.
Many of the items you mention are already on our backlog, and some are in active development too (eg. Event reminders, further customisation & branding flexibility, APIs). More on this very soon, once we release our public roadmap.
FYI - It is possible to limit attendee permission/interactions, and to remove the top bar containing the profiles of active audience members. This can be found within your Event management console under Settings -> Permissions -> Attendees Visibility. You can also control chat interactions within the Stage itself by clicking the setting wheel (bottom-left corner) -> Show More button -> Audience Reactions.

Good Product BUT I might refund
Ok first off I need to say that his review is for both the customer and the company. I believe transparency and clarity when doing business and I think this may be lacking here.
THE STORY: I bought two codes of this product and have checked it out. As an App Sumo Plus member I feel I need to warn prospective buyers that the conferencing template is locked off from anyone who has not bought three codes and this is not stated in the marketing anywhere. What is stated is that two codes gets you events for two hours even though the concept of events is not really explained.
I contacted support and I was told that I need to buy another code in order to utilize the conference template. Not Good!!!
For the staff of Tevents, I want you to know that when a customer purchases a product with a limitation and finds out after the fact when they are actually using the product and are then forced to upgrade to get functionality, it does not digest well.
I am now forced to decide whether I want to run into another one of these limitations or refund. You have a good product but no....this does not feel right. I guess I need to mull this over for a couple of days.

Thanks for your feedback here, and sorry to hear that there was some confusion when you contacted our support team.
Firstly, I’d like to clarify for yourself and the broader userbase what you are referring to here 😊
When creating an Event on Tevent, you have 2 options. You can either use a Template (ie. The ‘Conference’ template that you attempted to use, ‘Workshop’, etc), OR you can create a Custom Event. It is important to note that these Templates are simply pre-configuration a, or examples, of Event structures that you can build on Tevent. Using a template *does not* provide access to any additional features or modular upgrades.
The ’Conference’ template simply sets up 3 Stages and 3 Rooms, in a particular order and with a pre-set length, in a few clicks so you can get a jump-start on configuring the various sessions within your Event. (PS. For more info on these session types, check out our latest blog post here: https://www.tevent.com/blog/get-acquainted-with-tevent).
@caribinfinity - The ‘Conference’ default length is 3 hours, and with the 2x codes you had purchased, you are able to run lengths of max. 2 hours. This is where the issue arose I believe?
It is possible to adjust the total length of the ‘Conference’, and bring it down to 2 hours, before clicking the Create Event button. This is what we’d recommend in your case. Alternatively, you can create a Custom Event from scratch, and build out the Stages & Rooms to your requirements.
When my colleague mentioned that you’d need to upgrade to 3x codes, this wasn’t clear enough and I take full responsibility for this as their manager. Apologies!
As the team leader, I have ensured that we are clearer on this type of enquiry in the future. I appreciate your time and effort to raise this feedback and we’ll make sure that the use of templates (and the fact that they do not provide any additional features vs creating a custom event from scratch) is more clearly signposted.

Really cool platform and some issues
First things first: this is a really cool platform with high potential. It's playful, fun, and you have many possibilities to use it.
In my opinion, these are their strongest an unique features:
🌮 spaces and rooms – playgrounds for groups, memberships, networking
🌮 you can create multiple spaces for different groups – great
🌮 ability to broadcast per space – great
🌮 "Teleport"-feature – ability to move entire groups to a specific room, event or meeting
and last but not least:
🌮 you can monetize your events through Stripe, without Tevent taking any further fees
So here are already five tacos, and I give these five tacos to Tevent without restriction, because I believe in their potential.
Ok and now some negative aspects.
GDPR compliance and privacy: yes, there are some big, fat issues by now. Let's see and try to look at it in a positive way 😉
Some good news: If you want to use Tevent really GDPR- and Privacy-compliant for yourself and your guests, you (almost) can achieve that. But you have to actively search and find the ways and the hidden "where"s in order to get there (that's the bad news). You can influence the following points:
⚙️ deactivate cookies going to your own account/preferences/data&privacy
⚙️ set every space, room and event to "not listed" (otherwise you are visible everywhere)
⚙️ set the permissions of your spaces as restrictive as possible in order to prevent your guests to do things you don't want them to do
ℹ️ inform your guests, that they can watch your events as guests AND that they can prevent Tevent to create an account for them. In order to prevent account-creation, they have to exit the event by clicking on "log-out" button TWICE, confirming TWICE that they do NOT want Tevent to create an account.
ℹ️ advise your guests to uncheck the marketing-news-box in case they do sign up an account with Tevent
And then there remains this privacy issue, that you cannot influence:
👎 the visibility of the account-name to ALL Tevent users. Yes, that's a big no-go regarding good privacy practise. And that is nothing that you can change yourself. Well, you can achieve some privacy by choosing account names like 463585749373537. Not so cool? Yup, you're right.
😐 Another thing to consider: in a call or a meeting, every user (means, your guests too) can record the session. Everybody then gets a message "recording has started" – without previous ask for consent (another no-go from privacy point of view). Every participant can stop the recording at any time. That's okay, but does it really make sense, that every participant can decide whether or not the session is recorded?
Overall: Very cool platform. I like it and I would like to keep it. But as an European User, I seriously have to follow GDPR and good privacy practise 😉 If Tevent will fix those privacy issues, then I'm in.

Regarding your Cons:
1-on-1 Call Lag - This is something we thought we'd fixed after heavy testing pre-launch, but thanks for highlighting it to us. Could you please provide us with more information (eg. A video or screenshot showing your browser's console) so we can help to get this fixed for you? The best way to do this is via our chat support on the lower-right corner of the Tevent app or website.
Mobile compatibility - This is currently being developed and will be available by the end of 2022. We've got a big update coming on the Appsumo deal page (later this week), which will provide more roadmap details and a preview of the mobile app.

Oof. Has potential, but still has work to do.
When I saw "Alternative to Airmeet" I got super excited!
//PROS
- I love the layout and user interface, its easy to learn when you play around with it for about an hour. I also think the UI and UX is way better than Airmeet.
- I have not reached out to support, but what I hear is they are good at responding.
- I do like the "spaces" and events within spaces. This is really cool and useful for organizing those events within specific type of spaces.
- I do love how this seems to be able to take place of Demio, and other webinar type platforms. Saves us about $100 a month since we use Demio and will be transferring i think.
// CONS
- This is where things get... Weird. Why can guests, and even users search and see ALL tevent users? My guests should not be able to see every one of your users.. This I think is a SERIOUS privacy issue, especially if our competitors are using the same platform.
- Our guests are essentially forced into a Tevent account. I know Airmeet is the same, but why? Why cant a guest just be able to attend without you guys creating an account for them?
- Guests are limited to 100 tickets a month. Look, I get the marketing to users and potentially an additional revenue stream from your users guests, but limiting this (even though I think its a high limit) is very weird. If no one is going to be attending 100 events in a given month, why even have those credits? Or are the credits more for them to host their own events? Im very confused at this part and why users are essentially pushed to purchase credits or a premium account.
- Branding: While you can add your logo and such, I think the Tevent branding is a bit... much... Its everywhere, even to guests.
- Minor bugs. I experienced a random "unknown" file download (using safari) when I went to go look at an event as a guest. This is very weird, and concerning on what this random file that's downloading is.
- Guest process- The process for guests to actually get to your space is a bit convoluted. Not a deal breaker, but still a roadblock for some.
//OVERALL
I think this platform has potential. I think there should be some review of some of the above, and absolutely removing the ability for users to essentially search and see all of your users of Tevent. Ive never seen that and its quite bizarre to me and a privacy concern.
Other than that, I think i will keep this for now, and hopefully see some major improvements made with the investments you will get from AS users.

We pride ourselves on our ability to react to our customers' feedback and needs. To that end, please see some comments/clarifications below that might help clear up your concerns:
PROS:
- Thanks for the kind words in comparison to tools like Airmeet and Demio. We're aiming to be a viable and more cost-effective alternative to these tools (and others), particularly in the webinar / broadcasted event use case.
- I've given my team (Customer Success) a big pat on the back for their work in answering over 100 questions across the Appsumo page and in-app chatbot last week. Great to hear that their hard work hasn't gone unnoticed by the community 😊
CONS:
Global search and user visibility - We're aware of the GDPR and privacy implications here, and will be fixing this as a matter of priority. As mentioned before, as a mostly tech-focussed team, we'll be looking to bring in a legal expert to help us navigate this!
Guests attending events - It is possible for a guest to attend an event without needing to create an account (although we do encourage our Organisers to suggest that their guest Attendees create an account, as this improves the user experience and analytics/engagement capability of the platform).
To enable Guest Access:
* Please ensure that 'Guest Access' is set to ON (in the Registration -> Privacy page of your Event Management dashboard)
Guests being limited to 100 Ticket Credits – The second part of your comment here is correct, these Ticket Credits for guests/free users are for them to *run their own events as an Organiser*. We do *not* restrict the number of events that your audience can register for / attend. We’re looking at how to make this clearer in our Appsumo page update later this week.
Branding – We’re discussing the use of Tevent branding across the site, and how to reduce this to a level that makes more sense for our users, whilst also enabling us to get the visibility we need as a small and growing business. Stay tuned for an update on the Appsumo deal page soon!
Unknown file download – Our Dev team is looking into this, as it seems to be Safari specific. Rest assured, this file is *not* malicious and will be removed from our product ASAP.
Guest Space access – We’re reviewing the user flow here to ensure the redirect takes place effectively, once the link is clicked.
FINALLY:
Please keep using the platform! We will be making vast improvements by reinvesting the Appsumo revenue, as well as many features that are already on our roadmap for release before Christmas (eg. Mobile apps).
