Amazing Potential

I'll keep it brief. This has the potential to be a fantastic deal in my opinion. I'm not going to repeat what everyone else has said. But there is one point I'd like to make.

I believe the founders are missing the big picture and are losing out on a lot of potential monthly revenue. It's almost comical. What exactly do I mean? The roadmap is primarily comprised of additional platforms to connect (for example, BigMaker, Zillow, Infinity, NinjaOutReach, and so on) at the expense of core functionality and usability.

But TextAu... the tool itself... that's what they created. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a web SCRAPER as a lifetime deal! Every month, I pay for a web scraper. I use it to query Google for a search result (for example, "how to eat rice with chopsticks"), receive 25 results, and then scrape each of those 25 results to fetch all the text on each page.

A web scraper is used by tens of thousands of people. Each month, tens of thousands of people pay to use a web scraper. So owning a web scraper as a lifetime deal!? WOW!

So, what's my beef? The scraper's actual usability is poor. It seems to do an excellent job of scraping. A+. However, the available spices for general web scraping are limited, and the overall usability is poor.

TextAu can scrape Google for up to 25 results, but when I try to extract the HTML, TextAU compresses everything into a zip file (images, css, HTML, etc). Also, I have yet to figure out how to do this in bulk for multiple sites. Why can't TextAu just extract the text, convert it to a single line, and output it to a single cell in Google Sheets, and then move on to the next result? It would be incredible if they could just do that one simple thing.

If they could just improve the basic web scraping capabilities of this tool, I believe they could significantly improve their offering.

What about the user interface? It's probably the most perplexing interface I've ever encountered (and I program for a living). Now I have a reason to persevere and figure out the interface. But what about a customer who pays on a monthly basis? If I wanted to do basic web scraping, I would not pay $29 per month for this program. So my advice to the TextAu team is to dramatically improve usability and mass-appeal functions, because based on their roadmap, I believe they are spreading themselves too thin.

So, what's the deal with the 5-taco rating? I'm optimistic!
