Q: when are you going to add the ability to customize or add a photo to a form?
This is just basic customization that keeps me from using tiny email. I need to be able to use this, but I don't sell handbags, etc. I need to be able to customize the look of the forms rather than use a boring text only form. thank you.
I apologize for being persistent, but I don't feel like my concern is being taken seriously.
If double-Optin is not implemented, anyone can register another person for a newsletter *without their consent*. As the sender of the newsletter, I may inadvertently send spam without realizing it.
This document provides an extensive overview of the necessary practices for various countries within the European Union.
A: Hey julian430, You are right to make sure your understanding of tinyEmail is clear. And thank you for sharing the article as well. From a GDPR perspective it is not just about a double opt-in form it is about a clear line of explicit consent (meaning they really meant to sign up) vs implied consent (meaning someone is assuming they meant to sign up). And GDPR wants to see explicit consent.
If you are looking for a form with a checkbox that is something we can have ready by end-of-month? This is in our road map. Will this work for you?
If you are looking for a double opt-in form that will take us more time
Please let us know if this will address your concern?
4 month later I wanted to ask if the checkbox and the double optin feature are under development? I see you add some trendy AI functionality and automations for Shopify only - but some basic features for an e-mail syervice are still missing. Are they coming?
Q: How come that the service still misses double-optin for the subscription form.
This makes this part of the service unusable in many countries.
The website is great and talks about legal issues, but this important feature is still missing. I like the dashboard and the feature, but I cannot really implement the service right now and start to be really disappointed. Creating new inactive users and sending a welcome letter with an activation link is a simple way to implement it.
A: Hey julian430, I am assuming you are asking if the forms help you stay GDPR compliant (and similar compliance) standards? The good news is our forms follow all the best practices for collecting marketing information and the tinyEmail product and built in processes help you remain complaint.
As an email service provider, we are committed to ensuring our services fully comply with the GDPR.
I will outline the key measures we have implemented to adhere to the regulation's requirements and protect our users' personal data below:
Consent Management: We have designed our platform to require explicit, informed consent from users before they can be added to any email marketing list.
Transparency and Privacy Policy: Our privacy policy clearly outlines how we collect, process, and store personal data, the purposes for which we use the data, and the rights users have under GDPR. We regularly review and update our policy to maintain its accuracy and relevance.
Data Minimization and Retention: We collect and process only the personal data required for our email marketing services and store it securely for no longer than necessary. Our data retention policy is aligned with GDPR guidelines to ensure compliance.
Security Measures: We have implemented robust technical and organizational security measures to protect user data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, and regular security audits from third-party auditors.
Data Subject Rights: Our platform is designed to enable users to easily exercise their rights under GDPR, such as the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict the processing of their personal data. We have established efficient procedures to respond to data subject requests promptly.
Data Protection Impact Assessments: When necessary, we conduct DPIAs to assess the risks associated with our email marketing activities and implement appropriate measures to mitigate these risks.
Vendor Compliance: We carefully select and monitor our third-party vendors to ensure they comply with GDPR requirements, thereby maintaining a secure and compliant data processing environment.
Staff Training: Our employees receive regular training on GDPR and data protection best practices to ensure that they are fully aware of their responsibilities and the importance of protecting personal data.
We aim to provide our users with a secure, transparent, and GDPR-compliant email service by implementing these measures.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding our compliance efforts, please do not hesitate to contact Vitalie at vitalie@tinyemail.com He is the CTO of the tinyEmail Corporation and acting DPO in the company.
I hope this helps address your worries about GDPR.
>> Consent Management: We have designed our platform to require explicit, informed consent from users before they can be added to any email marketing list.<<
Can you please outline how to create a subscription form which 1) contains a check box which must be selected if the user agrees to the privacy agreement (that shoule be a link) 2) an e-mail is automatically sent to the user (who just filled out the form) which contains a link which the user must click to activate the subscription
The two elements are required for correct and legal subscription here in Germany.
Thank You, this is really important for me.

A: Hey matthias94, Any ESP (email service provider), including tinyEmail is not able to guarantee delivery rates but our platform is built to encourage best practices to have a high rate. Here are somethings we do to keep our platform healthy:
1. Authentication: tinyEmail uses email authentication protocols such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to prove to email providers that the emails sending are legitimate and not spam. https://help.tinyemail.com/en/articles/6027287-authenticate-your-sending-domain-using-dkim-dmarc-record
2. List hygiene: In tinyEmail this is called Audience; so it is audience health. Best practices are to not continually send to audience members who do not open and engage with your emails. This is why tinyEmail has segmentation features to find your openers and clickers: https://help.tinyemail.com/en/articles/5656723-understanding-your-audience-performance
3. Template optimization: tinyEmail provides a library of over 600 templates. All templates are built to optimize the layout and reduce the chances of being flagged as spam. This can involve avoiding certain keywords or phrases that are commonly associated with spam emails: https://help.tinyemail.com/en/articles/6639844-video-tutorial-how-to-pick-email-templates and we provide an AI tool help write highly effective subject lines: https://help.tinyemail.com/en/articles/6639844-video-tutorial-how-to-pick-email-templates
4. Deliverability monitoring: tinyEmail provides you delivery statistics and monitoring tools which you can use to track the delivery of emails and identify any issues that may be affecting deliverability. This can allow you to take corrective action quickly and minimize any negative impact on deliverability rates. https://help.tinyemail.com/en/articles/5543622-understand-your-campaign-analytics The tinyEmail team is quick to action these as it is important to us too.
5. I have not used the German free-email-provider tools you mentioned.

Ultimately, tinyEmail holds your contacts lists which we expect are collected using GDPR best practices. You can find further details in our Terms & Conditions under section 4.

That is good news that checkboxes are coming, thank you. That will help with my customer newsletter, which does not require double optin.
I will wait for the double optin though and use an intermediate solution to collect e-mails in a newsletter form.
Hey julian430,
Thanks for your feedback. There will be a notification when the checkbox feature is available in forms.
