Decent time tracking app with API functions, but not there yet

I am an independent contractor and was trying to find a better app for invoicing very small amounts of time like 5 minutes etc. I really wanted something with an API and something I wouldn't have to worry about with a free plan and so forth and this looked like it fit the bill. As a note the API IS available on this plan but I haven't used it yet, I guess there was some lack of clarity there.

So the UI is a bit off for me with this one. It defaults to this "weekly view" which has caused me a lot of problems with me missing items. In addition when you first start using it there are some really counterintuitive settings that threw me off, like a negative hours counter that could only be turned off in a really confusing way in the FAQ.

Maybe this is meant more for companies and less for contractors but I was just shocked that I ran into so many issues when just using it for less than a month. Most of them were user error but again caused by the counter intuitive week view. One of the most stressful things that ended up happening to me was that somehow I had made a draft invoice for just one day, and when I made an invoice for that time period, it left out the billable item on that day. Since the invoices ALSO default to the "week view" instead of a list, I missed this draft invoice I had made. I thought it was a bug because I would go to summary view for the same time and it would show me a different amount. I compared the billable items from both time periods and found that one was randomly missing, and that's when I went back in and found the draft billable item that I had to delete. I feel like when you're creating invoices for a certain time frame you should get an alert or something because it can be really bad to miss things like this.

Since I had a lot of interactions with support about these things that were "user error" in the end, when I found an actual bug it was really difficult for me to get support to listen to me which was frustrating. In this case my hourly price was rounding up instead of the billable amount rounding up, saying that I was charging someone XX.01 per hour. They have an FAQ about rounding but it specifically shows that the rounding is an extra penny on the amount, not on your price per hour. I got a response with the rounding FAQ which was frustrating.

I think I have a feel for the UI now so I won't make these kind of errors but I don't think it should have this kind of learning curve and I haven't had this issue with other time tracking apps. This has fixed the issue of me tracking small amounts of time and has an API which is what I wanted but I do feel nervous going forward due to the issues I've run into so far. I do think they should work on their UI and give alerts to the user to keep from billable items getting "lost".
