so, whenever that time happens that we hit the 1M milestone, it becomes a 'pay as you go' application, so once each app hits that milestone, it will toggle up $2/1M additional credits? Is there 'abuse/spammer' protection so that someone can't jack the bot with spam?

Yes if you exceed the 1M requests they you pay for excess. If you should happen to be targeted by a spam attack, contact us and we will work it out :)
