When was your company founded & where is it located?

What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?

We’ve been developing software for over a decade. We started as an outsourcing company, working on small and large projects for B2B customers worldwide, that allowed us to learn enterprise software approaches, ways to build reliable, scalable, high-performance software. In parallel, we worked on our own products, wpDataTables (currently running on almost 80.000 websites), and Amelia (approaching 60.000 installs).

As we evolved, we no longer wanted to work on the clients’ software, so we discontinued the agency part, and now focus only on our own software. Since 2020 we’re developing Trafft, to be able to offer booking solutions outside of WordPress ecosystem as well.

What is your team size?

At the moment we have about 40 people in total.

There are 3 major sectors: product development teams (that focus on coding and testing), customer happiness, marketing; plus a high-level management and admin that manages all sectors.

Are you funded or bootstrapped?

We’ve been fully bootstrapped from day 1; and we always maintain healthy growth - i.e., we ensure we’re not pressured by runway.

What 3rd party tools is your product critically dependent on?

No critical dependencies. We do rely on hostings infrastructure, but it can be changed and we add servers from time to time. Also we do have integrations, but the software doesn’t depend on third party APIs for the core functionality.00

Where is your customer data stored?

We have data centers in US and EU (Hetzner).

How many customers do you have today?

There are 17000+ created accounts in total (many were just free trials). Average active accounts within 30 days is around 1500.

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?

What problem is your product solving and how?

Partly answered in the “Word from the founder”.

The main problem is the need for service-based SMBs to be present online and accept online bookings without having to spend a lot of time and money on developing and maintaining a website.

We aim to create a much more intuitive and user-friendly interface compared to the majority of competitors, and judging by the feedback of existing customers we succeed in our efforts so far.

What’s the #1 thing you’re looking to gain from the AppSumo campaign?

Ideally, a “push” to our distribution, virality, followers base, marketing materials - everything that can help our growth with continuity.

In short: growth. Most small businesses that work with customers, online (like online coaches, therapists, online Yoga instructors) and offline (salons, spa studios, home services, personal trainers, pet care, detailing centers), need a way to organize their schedules and bookings and to be present online. Almost every customer today researches a business online before actually visiting in person, and if a business doesn’t allow online booking, they will probably pick a business that does. 💻

🔹Why did we create Trafft?

We've been building Trafft since 2020 as a SaaS "sister product" of our popular WordPress booking plugin called Amelia, which is now used on almost 60,000 websites and counting. ​​🚀

When a business becomes more serious and grows, managing bookings from within the website may become suboptimal. Put straight, the website and booking management are two separate business components.

As an example, we had a barbershop owner who managed to grow one shop with 2 chairs into a franchise with 10 locations, 20,000+ regular customers, and growing. They could no longer rely on a website-based booking tool.

On the other hand, we noticed many businesses rely on social media for marketing and don’t even need a website. They accept bookings through direct messages, struggling to respond to everyone in a timely manner. We wanted to give them a tool that would make their lives easier without requiring them to maintain websites. 🤳

That's why we created Trafft, where just a few clicks are needed to launch a booking page or add a booking widget to an existing website, and that works equally well for large enterprises and solopreneurs. Today, Trafft serves large customers that process $100K+ in booking revenues per month, as well as numerous solopreneurs and very small businesses that join every day. 🥳
