Q: Do unused minutes/credits rollover month-to-month (perhaps with a one-year expiry or something)?
Would seem fair if the corresponding costs aren't being incurred on your side... right??
I'm really happy with Castmagic and would strongly recommend them to anyone... you certainly have some stiff competition in that team/product! That said, being able to 'bank' unused credits would be a really meaningful value-add (and point of differentiation, frankly). You also mention offering API access but I don't see that mentioned as an included feature in the base package, in any of the tiers/plans, or anywhere on the pricing page on your website, either. The only mention of API access is in your FAQs where you say it's available and to contact you for details... can you please share what those details are? Is it possible to plug-and-play with our own OpenAI API key to essentially have unlimited output at any Plan/Tier level (but with upload limitations still applying as outlined by tier)?
Thanks for your consideration and wishing you guys all the best!

> Do unused minutes/credits rollover month-to-month (perhaps with a one-year expiry or something)?
No, unused credits expire each month. Depending on your tier, we will topup your account with new credits. This is the standard approach used by every other SaaS business. The minutes we offer on each tier are much higher than any competitor. We are yet to find any alternative that offers higher credits than us at our price point. All this without compromising on quality.
> About Castmagic
They are very similar to our product. If you purchased one of their deals at a discount, I think that's amazing! However, we are much more competitive on the pricing. Their lowest tier (costs 39$ per month) and gives only 200 minutes per month. Our lowest tier (costs only 10$ month) and gives 300 minutes per month - 50% more credits at 75% discount on cost! You can get this at much lower price point through our AppSumo deals.
> API Access
Yes, we do offer API access to business users. Those plans are on our website. Our API access includes every feature offered through our website. We also support 20+ file formats and file uploads upto 4 GB, and content duration of over 10+ hours per file. Feel free to explore our API offering here - https://transcript.stoplight.io/docs/transcript-lol/ As a quick side node, Castmagic offers a very limited API (starting $299/month) - you can verify this through their API docs. We offer a thorough API for just ($75/month).
> Using your own OpenAI API Key
We are investigating this option at the moment. A lot of our business customers have asked for this and we are keen to support it very soon. Currently we use a mix of LLM models to produce our output. From our experience one model doesn't fit perfectly for all tasks. Here are some independent evaluations to support our thesis here - https://twitter.com/GregKamradt/status/1722386725635580292 and https://twitter.com/LouisKnightWebb/status/1724510794514157668 That said, we are keen to add this feature because as you suggested, this is a huge help for some users
I believe we are very competitively priced and we never compromise on quality (as you can see from the reviews of every user who tried our app).
Thanks again for your comments. Hope that clarifies your questions. Please let us know if we can help with anything else.
One key distinction of our service from Castmagic is that we are built for more than Podcasting. Right now we have a near feature parity with them on podcaster tools but our thorough API offering is integrated by many businesses into their own workflow. And this is generalised in a way that it can be used for many other workflows.
So, a key sellpoint in my view is that, would you rather have a tool only for Podcasts or a general tool that has all the same features and many more possibilities?
like what kind of other workflows? any list or directory to showcase?
We have a few clients who use our APIs to transcribe, get subtitles, and also generate AI features such as quizzes etc - others focus on our incremental summarisation services.
