Transciption.LOL is almost perfect for easy transcription except... it lacks the most important capability of power users: the ability to access the transcriptions via API.

As a result, its use is very limited for research and transcribing my interviews at scale. It is excellent for occasional transcriptions, but without APIs, it's ganked for pro use. I was hoping to copy my audio files into a Google Drive and have them picked up and processed.

I have a workaround that involves scaping my transcribe.lol web page with a bot, but that is just putting up extra barriers and steps against clients. I have also toyed with The result is that make.com automation with whisper to do what I hoped to ranscribe.lol would - the result was ok, but the effort needed was annoying.

The lack of integration capabilities aside, the Transcribe.lol delivers pretty good transcription and is super easy to use when it comes to video transcription. And the AI tools are pretty good, though it would be better if we could customise the prompts and AI models used. Again. that is something that can be delivered with a low-code app.

If you only have a few items to transcribe each month, I would highly recommend the lower-tier plans. If you have a lot of material to transcribe, I would skip the Transcribe.lol deal and look for solutions that deliver robust automation and API support.

Note: The vendor does have APIs, but these are not easily available and not available for AppSumo accounts. This would have been a five star review if they were available.
