Translate.Video is appreciated for its seamless translation process, user-friendly interface, and the ability to download subtitles in the original language. However, some limitations include restricted access to premium voices in lower-tier plans and limited monthly video translation minutes. Despite these minor constraints, Translate.Video offers great value with advanced features. With a 24-month runway and a focus on retaining and engaging new users, Translate.Video is worth trying for those in need of instant video translation and dubbing.

It could be good or become good, but I have my doubts and refunded, too many red flags

While others said the platform would not work, it always worked for me. You have to get used the UI, but then it makes sense. You have to wait a little, as with other tools (for voices to be generated etc).
The tools splits your transcripts into small chunks, usually sentences. It then translates those chunks with AI, and the result is barely ok but not sounding good depending on the topic and source material. IT the spoken text sounds conversational — like any good business video should — it's harder to translate than an "article like, polished script". We don't speak like we write letters, that's the tricky part for translations. The cool thing is you can use your own prompts for revising the translation, and this makes it much better. It still needs a lot of work (as most good translations do).

Now for the voice part: Of course spoken Audio will have another duration in a foreign language: A good French translation and Spanish translation of the same English text will have different runtimes. This is the first thing where translate.video fails: Some fragments/chunks are too short, others are too long. So you speed up or slow down the audio, but it will sound artificial. You have to manually tweak this for each sentence. If it would use longer fragments, the trouble would even out: For example: Sentence 1 is shorter in the target language. Sentence 2 can be adjusted by a small tweak to be longer or shorter. And sentence 3 is longer. Currently, it's a mess. Using longer segments would even it out and all would sound good. Of course you can manually merge the segments but this is becoming way too much work.
It has features to make the speed differences less troublesome, but they just don't work well enough (OneTake.AI does a much better job with this, for example, it has an excellent voice clone and your Spanish, English and French videos will simply have different runtimes in the end, e.g. 3:10, 3:30 and 3:55 minutes, and by stretching the material it all looks good and very natural. Another alternative might be unmixr, which uses longer chunks and also let's you set an infliction and tones for the text to speech voices).

I could go on but there are two red flags: Carefully read the AppSumo offer, and the questions for premium voices and clones: It's ok if don't want to actually enable cloning for lifetime deals (they limit it to only 10 minutes even in higher plans, and each adjustment will again eat your full minutes of something needs to be edited). They just should pharse it that way and tell us the throughs. YOu can buy additional minutes for cloning for 1.5 USD per minute, which I again think is OK since the cloning soudns good and you do not have to pay this monthly, but only when you use it, and if you suddenly need 300 minutes today and then no minutes for the next 3 months this will work fine without restrictions. But they don't tell you even if you ask, you have to buy Tier 3 and look it up. Red flag.
Then they promised a much better translation they call "transliteration" or something, with more context/better auto-pre-translation-prompt. They give us a time frame - which they missed. It's ok, this happens. Just tell us. Then they did not answer a questions about the delay and when it will be available, they let it sit for a full week. Red flag 2.
Good bye and good luck. This could become better in the future, I provided detailed feedback so you know what you can improve (and for other buyers to see if you want it).

Doesn't Work!

The application does not work completely. I uploaded two videos, but there was no response. Additionally, I contacted support several times, but never received a reply. I requested a refund. I believe this application does not have much of a future.

Works for me

It works, specially if you're dubbing a video and want to expand on it a bit further.

Yes, but NO !

A friend advised me to take a look at Translate.video's offer on AppSumo.

I was seduced by the offer and bought Tier 3 with 120 minutes of translation to test it out. My requirement is 40 hours a month, but I wanted to test it out first before taking Tier 9 and investing almost $1,000.

Registration is going well.

But when it came to cloning my voice (because yes, I want to use my voice for translations), things started to get complicated.

I have to read 2 texts to clone my voice, unlike all the other solutions where you just drag and drop a video to clone a video. But everyone has their own system and I'm not criticizing but I find it more complicated.

I'm starting the configuration and I've got bug after bug... I can't clone my voice. I try again and ditto, even though I'm getting validation messages.

I contact support, who get back to me within 24 hours with a tutorial.
I repeat the cloning configuration (same as the first time) and I get a validation message. But despite the validation message, it didn't work.

So I decided to send a demo Loom video to the support team and they got back to me within 24 hours (that's cool).
(that's cool) and they fix the bug. I can now try again and it works. Yippee

I clone and insert a 3-minute video with my voice. The translation is good, but the lip-sync is still missing.

So I start to drag and drop a second video of about 10 minutes and then the drama. The system tells me I've exceeded my quota...
Impossible, I've taken a 120-minute shot!

But no. In fact, on App sumo they didn't mention that you have XX minutes, in my case 12 to minutes of basic cloning (using voices from their database).

I checked their Appsumo offer, thinking I'd missed something, but nope. It's nowhere to be found.

I wasted 4 days trying to set up their system, watching their out-of-date tutorials, only to be unable to use their voice cloning software.

I'm very disappointed, especially now that support isn't answering me...

Thanks AppSumo for the refund.

My opinion is that translate.video will be a good application in a few months.

Hi Jerome, I'm sorry you are facing trouble. Please give us some time, we'll make sure we get in touch with you. You have to consider Voice Cloning minutes as a part of Premium minutes, there's also a way to top-up those minutes if needed, considering your requirements.

Not a good solution, might make the job for you

I have used other apps for translations, dedubbing etc... This is one of the worst. Error messages that require manual adjustment, consumption of minutes well beyond the amount of time used, not a great UX to be honest. Still for some might make the case. In my experience, I will keep my subscription to other tools that is way more expensive but does the job more effectively.
