Great potential
I think this app has potential, however the downside is the pricing model. For example to get "premium" apps like SSO you have to pay $20/month. In other words it's going to cost me $240usd/year to let a user sign on with the credentials from another site? To put that in perspective I can access 50 million songs on spotify about 4k movies on Netflix for less money than these guys are charging for SSO.

While the math is correct, let's not compare a B2B SaaS product with consumer apps. A reliable web hosting to support a community platform for a year would cost at the very least $250 - $300.
Since Tribe is cloud-based you don't have to worry about maintaining the web hosting (upkeep), taking care of technical details, security, software update, etc. Instead, you can focus on building your community and invest the resources in engaging the members.
Please factor in the time and money you're saving with a SaaS app. If you're subscribing to SSO ($20/month), it is still much lower than the total cost of ownership.
