WonkaQ: Question on integrating Live search
Hi I know someone else asked about live google/duckduck search in 2024, I wanted to get an update on this and where the tool is at now. With all the new models added and integrated like gemini 3, gpt5 etc since 2024, in AI chat or using prompts on highlighted text, is it possible to ask for the latest news (country or subject), weather for a city, latest soccer match scores etc in realtime? if it isnt available yet whats the latest updates and plans to add this capability inside Triplo with either google/bing/DuckduckGo for users?

There is NO websearch or live results available on Triplo AI allowance. You can use it through OpenRouter BYOK if you wish. As an alternative use https://go.triplo.ai/scraping.

There is NO real-time data model available for Triplo AI. In 2024, we added Perplexity Sonar but found users misusing it like Google, posing risks. We removed it immediately. Thanks for the response can I ask how were users misusing it? will you not bring live search back or option to click a search button on triplo to get latest info like news, weather etc? I know duckduckgo can be integrated free in thirdparty tools infact LM studio for example which you made a video about for local LLMs let you add duckduckgo and use for search on your models for free
Absolutely, that’s a straightforward one. In addition to the usual costs associated with processing tokens, which is standard for all LLMs, Perplexity charges around $5 for every 1,000 calls. When users interact with Triplo AI like they would with Google, asking questions like "What is the site for Perplexity?", a request that would typically cost just 0.0000004 USD now ends up costing 0.005 USD.
To be clear. Triplo AI is designed to be a Productivity Assistant, not a Google/Search replacement.
but instead of perplexity you could use free models like DuckduckGo that dont charge any credits and is free for third party apps or if you want a paid search api Google search cheaper than perplexity and if its a misuse problem on a paid api you can cap it to max 50 queries per user per month for example; however I would still recommend Duckduck since its free.
There are plenty of free services out there. We chose not to include web search in Triplo AI. For those interested, Perplexity is currently available. Will there be more options in the future? Perhaps, but for now, Perplexity via OpenRouter BYOK is the only one on offer.
P.s can the scraping tool be used on sites that have live weather and latest news? for example BBC.COM for news and https://www.windy.com for weather? it might not work for weather sites through as most of them show weather visually instead of in text format
All cloud based models if I use directly on their site chat gpt, gemini, deepseek already have search integrated and which does help as a Productivity Assistant if you need to do research or get the latest info for something, models without search have data up until 2023-2024 which would limit productivity especially if you are a person or business that relies on search for the latest news or info
