Q: Tokens per device vs total tokens
Hi Felipe,
I think that I am not the only one asking about tokens in different devices. Sorry about that.
I bought Tier 3 because I wanted more tokens (probably than needed) so I could be sure I will never run out of tokens, but it seems that I "only" have 2M tokens on my phone (haven't tried yet on my computer (I am now traveling), so I started to investigate.
May you please confirm that 2M tokens per device means literally 2M tokens for each specific device? (so Tier 3 does not provide "10 devices * 2M tokens = 20M tokens in total to use in whatever the device is; "just" 2M tokens per device only)
I did an economical effort for those 20M tokens, but if tokens are limited to 2M tokens each device only, I may need to downgrade to Tier 2. Would you suggest to do that in my case?

You're definitely not alone in asking about this, I answered this very same question time and time again since our first days on Appsumo. No problem, happy to answer again.
So here's the deal: yes, the 2M tokens per device means exactly that. Each device gets its own separate 2M token allowance every month. It's not a pooled system where you have 20M tokens total to use across all your devices. Think of it more like each device has its own individual bucket of 2M tokens that refreshes monthly.
The tokens can't be transferred between devices or saved for later use. Once a device reaches its 2M limit, you'll need to wait until the next billing cycle for that specific device to reset, which happens on the 1st of each month. Alternatively, you can use your own API keys, locally running LLMs, or OpenAI-compatible endpoints connected to Triplo AI.
These conditions are clearly stated on Appsumo's offer page on the Tiers table and also in the "Deal terms & conditions" section where one reads: "Monthly credits do not roll over. Each device gets a monthly allowance of 2 million AI tokens that do not carry over. Feature limits are set for each device."
See, we're definitely not in the lifetime token space. The allowance exists purely to remove barriers for new and non-technical users, giving them immediate access to Triplo AI. For most people, the 2 million tokens provide enough usage for an entire month.
Now, about whether you should downgrade: honestly, 2M tokens per device is actually a pretty generous amount for most people's regular use. If you're mainly using Triplo on just one or two devices (like your phone and computer), you'd still have 4M tokens total available each month, just split between those devices.
The real question is: do you really need a license with too many devices? If you're mostly sticking to your phone and maybe your computer, Tier 2 might make more sense for you financially. But if you genuinely plan to use it across multiple devices and want that flexibility, keeping Tier 3 could still be worth it.
You can also track your token usage at the bottom right on desktop or top right on mobile to see how much you're actually consuming, which might help you decide. There's also a History section where you can check your consumption patterns.
Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care
Felipe

Muito obrigado, Felipe, for your clear answer and case scenarios.
I only own two devices plus the company computer, but maybe I can find another usage for those devices that I have left on Tier 3.
I think the software is great, just that I might bought "a bigger turkey that I would eat".
Lets see, I might keep Tier 3.
Gracias otra vez.
We support and respect every single Triplo AI user, Fran! You'd be totally welcome even if you're just running a simple Triplo AI on its free tier :)
