I have purchased Tier 1 to test trial TrueRanker. However, I am actually in the market for a higher Tier as I need a good rank checking tool.

The interface looks clean and modern. I like the option to set up projects based on domain, category, or individual URLs. Rankings come in quickly, and the daily refresh seems to work flawlessly. I can see a lot of potential for this app to develop into a comprehensive SEO tool similar to SE Ranking; if they will manage to add other valuable features and fix some of the usability issues.

For example, for some reason, I only see the Keyword Suggestion tab in my original project but not in the other ones. The tool itself does not provide a lot of new keywords, and if so, it only provides additional ideas for some keyword subjects and seems to ignore other keyword groups.

Tags are great to organize your keywords. However, I accidentally misspelled a tag, and there seems to be no option to bulk edit or even delete tags. I couldn’t find this setting, or it is well hidden. For now, users have to manually remove a tag keyword by keyword. You can re-add tags for multiple keywords as a bulk activity, though.

TrueRanker’s support is excellent. I have received a response very quickly. This referred to my question of why it is impossible to permanently choose which keyword ranking columns a user wants to see and change their orders based on preference. It is certainly possible, but for now, the setting seems to be cookie-based and will go back to the default setting once you delete your cookies. Unfortunately, columns such as “Country” or “Devices” appear in the visible area but carry only static information. Thus, it is not easy to see the latest changes at a glance. Scrolling is necessary.

Another important usability topic is that once I have set up a project, I cannot change the URL. Maybe, I have not found this option yet, but URLs can change, and thus at the moment, I would need to recreate the project. There should be the option to change that URL and other parameters. Giving the project a proper name would be a great setting, too, rather than just displaying the full URL.

All in all, I am confident of keeping the tool and upgrading to higher tiers. I will see how it pans out over the next four weeks. I hope it will. Good luck. Excellent deal.
