Trustpilot is an online review platform that allows users to share their purchasing and service experiences to help others make informed buying decisions.

One of the most unique aspects of Trustpilot is that they do not moderate reviews. Their goal is to provide transparency, so the only person who can modify or delete a review is the user who left that review.

Trustpilot is also considered a true open platform in that anyone can leave a review if they have had a buying or service experience with a brand in the past 12 months. While some platforms only allow those who have been invited by the business to leave feedback, Trustpilot wants to allow all customers to engage with the brands they buy from.

Once they have signed up for a Trustpilot account (which just requires an email), users can leave an honest review. The review includes both a star rating out of 5 and a brief description of their experience and justification for the review.

Users can mark reviews as useful or flag potentially fake reviews by clicking the appropriate button on the review. Anyone is able to share reviews from Trustpilot on Facebook or Twitter by clicking the share button.

Users can browse companies by category and filter them based on star rating, location, or company status (verified or claimed). The appeal of this platform for consumers is that they’re able to find honest reviews from real customers to help them make an informed purchasing decision.

Businesses can set up verified profiles by providing proof that they are the business. Once a business verifies their profile, this will show up on their profile to add an additional layer of transparency. Consumers are not required to do the same, but they can verify their profiles as well.

Businesses can invite their customers to leave reviews for them on Trustpilot. The greatest benefit for the business owner is that they are able to get feedback from real customers that can inform changes or updates they make to their products and/or services.
