Q: How do you calculate the Keyword Search Volume.

Really cool app. I'm interested in your Keyword Research feature as this a gap in TubeBuddy.

1. By searching the keyword "body doubling" it shows a volume of 21,166 which seems a lot. Is this YouTube only? Is it worldwide or is it possible to choose a country?

2. SemRush shows a volume of 18.1k and WordTracker 4.7k and they are way more broad as they don't search specifically on YouTube. Which means, 21k sounds little bit unrealistic to me.

How precise is this measurement? Making a good long form video these days takes many hours that's I try to be careful choosing the right keywords. Can we rely on the data that you provide?

Thank you.

A: Thanks for the great question!

The search volume we provide is based on YouTube-specific data, not general search engine data like SEMRush or WordTracker. So, while tools like SEMRush provide broad search data, our keyword search volume reflects searches only on YouTube. That’s why the numbers might appear higher than those reported by broader SEO tools, like SEMRush.

Currently, our keyword volume data is global, meaning it reflects worldwide search volume. We do not yet have the option to filter by country, but we are considering that as a potential feature in the future.

In terms of precision, you can generally rely on our data for YouTube-specific searches. We recommend comparing data within YouTube tools, like TubeIQ, for a more accurate sense of keyword performance on the platform.

Thanks for using TubeIQ, and we hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you. And how do you explain a higher volumes on your tool compared to SemRush, considering you are only analyzing video? Shouldn't it be lower?

Topics that are more visually or audibly engaging might have higher search volumes on YouTube compared to broader search engines. While differences between tools are expected, comparing within YouTube-focused platforms offers a clearer perspective.
