The only one responsible is Appsumo!
The number of apps that fail or are abandoned after being sold as lifetime deals is very frustrating. Ocoya, TubeIQ, Creator ai, Kwhero, Bramework, BitePlay, Feedback Link, SEOdity, Maekersuite, Justinmind, CubeWP. Honestly I can keep going. And that just me!
We spend our money expecting the app to keep working and improving. But often, after a year or two, support stops, updates disappear, and the app is no longer useful.
AppSumo’s one-year guarantee does not really protect buyers. It can take more than a year to notice that a company has stopped supporting its product. By then, the refund period is already over.
AppSumo has a lot of experience and data from past deals. They should do better checks before promoting apps and follow up with the companies afterward. Buyers should not carry all the risk when an app fails.
Right now, it feels like AppSumo only cares about making the sale, not whether the startup succeeds or whether customers lose the money they invested. After seeing so many apps fail or get abandoned, I have lost my trust in AppSumo.

My Answer:
While I did mention other products, this review specifically concerns TubeIQ. The app was down for an extended period, and I experienced multiple failed login attempts. Even when I was able to log in, the app became unresponsive, and the search functions were unusable. Would you consider this to meet your criteria for "firsthand experience"?

Aug 6, 2026Thank you for sharing your experience. The concerns you've raised about lifetime deal products being abandoned are valid, and we understand the frustration that comes with investing in software that later loses support.
We do want to address TubeIQ's inclusion on your list, as we believe it may be based on inaccurate information. TubeIQ is fully operational, actively supported, and currently in development for a significant upcoming update. We remain committed to our users and to the long-term growth of the product.
We recognize that trust in the lifetime deal space has been eroded by genuine cases of abandonment, and we take that context seriously. However, we'd respectfully ask that product listings be based on verified, firsthand experience. Public reviews carry real weight, for better and for worse and inaccurate claims can have a meaningful impact on small teams working hard to deliver on their commitments.
If you have had a direct experience with TubeIQ that concerns you, we welcome that conversation and would be glad to help. Please reach out to our support team directly and we'll make it right.
