So here's the thing. I own a LOT of AI writing tools and have tried everything under the sun.. including the ones that cost subscription in addition to LTDs. That's why when new tools come along, I approach them with the mindset that they probably won't be any better than the tools that I already have.

Typli did however intrigue me because it comes with both a wordpress plugin and a chrome extension. That's pretty rare. First impressions? Really buggy. But in the midst of the bugs, I did get an output that I was actually blown away by during my fight trying to get past the glitches. So I had a few email exchanges with the founder as he assured me they'll fix the bugs. They ironed out several issues within a day or so and since then, things work a lot more smoothly now. The Chrome extension is still showing the wrong character count in comparison to the actual browser app.. but at least it generates without issue now.

In terms of features related to AI writing, I don't think Typli has enough. It's very simplistic right now in that you can only highlight text to generate. No "true" longform where you can just put the cursor where you need and the AI starts writing based on what's already inside the editor. However, the founder says they'll be working towards that. The command/instruction feature is also not great. The SEO feature? meh, I wouldn't use it.

So you're probably wondering, then why the heck am I calling it a hidden gem? Because of the output you can get. Typli gives me the most naturally conversational/engaging style of writing i've come across in any of the AI writing tools. I don't know what it is about it but it's very good! So this alone is actually convincing me to pick up a second code to make things unlimited because I'm having a great time using Typli to get my articles started. I simply write in the title of my article inside the editor or the extension and just click to generate. It will most often impress me with this really nice natural sounding blog intro that leaves me wanting to keep reading! So even if this is the only thing typli is great at, I'll take it lol because despite owning and trying every AI tool under the sun, most of them have a pretty neutral flat tone when it comes to the writing style and I have to make more changes to liven them up a bit! The browser extension also allows me to generate some paragraphs with Typli and use them in conjunction with my other AI writing tools.

As for what I'd like to see - some more features with the AI so that I can easily expand upon the text that the AI generated for me the first time. Would also like to see the character limit mentioned in the browser extension to actually match those of the app itself. I'd rate with 4 tacos, but because I want to encourage the tool founders to keep working on Typli to make it even better and to show my appreciation for the outputs that I love, I'm rating it 5 tacos :)
