Unmixr Needs to Adapt: Free Alternatives Are Now More Realistic and Feature Rich
I bought Unmixr about nine months ago, and at the time I was genuinely impressed. I made several work tutorials using the Jenny and Expressive Jenny voices, and people at my job immediately noticed how much better the audio sounded compared to my older tutorials. Unmixr was also extremely fast. I could generate an hour of audio in just a few minutes, which even beat ElevenLabs for long form work. For a lifetime deal, it felt like a great value.
Unmixr was clearly stronger than tools like Revoicer and Speechelo, and while ElevenLabs still had the most natural voices overall, Unmixr was not far behind. My workflow back then was simple: use Unmixr for speed and rely on ElevenLabs only when I needed something more expressive.
But nine months later, the landscape has changed dramatically. Google Studio Text to Speech now offers around twenty voices that are completely free, unlimited, and in many cases more natural than Unmixr’s Pro voices and even better than some ElevenLabs voices. Because of this, I find myself using Google more than Unmixr, even though I own multiple lifetime deals.
I also use Clone Voice AI every day now. For the kind of work I do, it has become better than what I was doing with Unmixr. Google gives me natural voices with no limitations, and Clone Voice AI gives me unlimited voice cloning, text to speech that sounds better than Unmixr’s Pro voices which still are not included for AppSumo users, a built in voice changer which I have been requesting from Unmixr for a long time, and even music generation. Competitors are moving fast, and they are offering more powerful features at lower prices.
This is why Unmixr needs to rethink its AppSumo tiers. In the past, they refused to include the Pro voices for AppSumo customers, but at this point they really need to reconsider that decision if they want to stay competitive. With Google offering extremely realistic voices for free and other platforms offering unlimited cloning and advanced audio tools in their lifetime deals, Unmixr cannot afford to hold back its best features.
There are also several improvements Unmixr needs to add if they want to keep up. They need better voice flow and more natural pacing. They need more emotional control and detailed voice settings, not just basic sliders. They need a voice changer option, more modern and expressive premium voices, and a stronger voice cloning system that can compete with what other platforms are offering. They also need better dubbing, better pronunciation control, and a more advanced timeline editor for fine tuning audio. These additions would help Unmixr stay relevant in a market that is evolving very quickly.
Unmixr still has potential, but they need to move faster to match today’s standards. Including the Pro voices for AppSumo users, improving voice realism, offering more tools, and expanding features are essential steps now. The foundation is good, but the market has clearly moved forward, and Unmixr needs to catch up before more users switch to platforms that are already ahead. I am being generous and giving four stars because Unmixr did help with a lot of my earlier work, but I have to admit this is really a three star platform at the moment because other platforms are outpacing it, especially Google’s free text to speech.
However, i do believe that if unmixr listens to the feedback, they can redeem their platform and make it strong again but they need to act quickly because other better options exist now for free on speech to text like google studio ai.

Nov 16, 2025Hi Tony,
Thank you so much for the detailed and honest feedback - it truly helps us understand where we need to move faster. You’re absolutely right that the TTS space has changed quickly, and we’re already making several upgrades to match the new standards.
We’ve recently introduced AI-powered features to help generate content faster and more automatically (not released yet), and we’ve also launched our new timeline editor inside the Narration Studio for better control and editing. This timeline editor will soon expand into other areas of Unmixr as well.
We’re also working on full video project creation with synced audio, which is coming very soon. On top of that, we’re preparing a set of new LLM-powered instructive voices that offer much more natural pacing, realism, and clarity.
We genuinely appreciate your earlier support and your clear suggestions - they help guide our roadmap. We’re committed to improving quickly and delivering the quality and modern features creators expect today. Thank you again for believing in Unmixr!
Best Regards,
Shariful
