When the company releases a major update/upgrade/version, the LIFETIME deal does not automatically give the end user update/upgrade rights to the new version. Is this correct?
If so, is this not a perpetual license by version and not a LIFETIME license?

Yes, you will have updates for free until we entirely redesign the software or upgrade our core technology. However, it might be a long time because this software is quite new and we currently do not have any plan to charge any upgrade fee yet.
However, if the software is entirely redesigned or upgraded, customers are the people who decide to upgrade or not. If they don't want to upgrade, they still have premium access to the current version of UPDF.

Typically a developer on AppSumo will map the software they are offering to a membership level on their website, like premium, basic, AppSumu Version, etc. The ongoing version changes for the level would always be part of the lifetime deal. Do you foresee a time when your LTD will no longer get updates and get sidelined? This is the first time I can recall where a developer has outright stated language that implies a limited lifespan for the offer, even if that lifespan might be a "long time".
Ok Im confused, this does not sound like a normal LTD for appsumo, is it just me?
