Good Alternative to LeadRocks with a few caveats!
The number of leads you get cannot be surpassed for the price!!! This is a similar tool to LeadRocks, another lead gen tool here on AppSumo, which I will use to compare to this software. mainstream lead gen software like LeadShark will charge $0.4 per lead, which can add up to thousands per month, while this LTD is a huge bargain. Both useArtemis and LeadRocks have similar value in terms of credits per month and the LTD price.
Pros:
-Enormous contact database of 500M leads (LeadRocks *only* has 100M contacts)
-Industry keyword search: this is currently the biggest differentiator with LeadRocks, which lacks this feature.
-Easy-to-use prospecting platform, lets you search by company name, location, industry, and lead position, name, and location.
-LinkedIn searches via chrome extension with data enrichment (similar to LeadRocks)
-Single email verifier
-CSV export (similar to LeadRocks)
-Cold emailing software coming soon (same as LeadRocks also has upcoming cold emailing suite)
-Top-notch customer support: messaged the dev several times on a Sunday and got near-instant replies
Cons:
-Tedious to save multiple contacts from prospecting: only displays 50 contacts per page, which would require passing 20 pages to save 1000 contacts. LeadRocks lets you select 500 contacts per page making it much easier.
-Domain search isn't fully implemented and is hardly useful unless you have very few contacts on your domain. The results will only display 30 arbitrary contacts with no way of viewing or saving more. LeadRocks has no issues displaying any number of contacts from a domain.
-No Email List Validation? It's not clear if useArtemis validates emails when saved to a list, and even though there is a single email validation tool, there's no way to validate an imported list. LeadRocks does let you validate all the emails obtained from their database free of charge.
-Confusing credit charges: I am not sure if credits are only used to view/save contacts and/or enrich obtained contacts (which, btw, are two separate processes you need to do to obtain contact info--LeadRocks lets you do this in one step). I also am not sure if credits are charged to search and validate emails. A history / price table would make this much clearer. Theoretically, according to the dev, 1 credit = 1 lead, however, it seems to be spending credits for searches and enrichment which do not add leads to your lists.
Cold emailing platform:
Similar to LeadRocks, useArtemis is going to launch a cold emailing tool later in their dev cycle. I think they should focus on nailing their lead prospecting before launching the emailing platf
Final thoughts:
I think LeadRocks offers slightly better value and is slightly easier to use taking into account all the features and quirks, however, this could be subject to change in the future as both platforms mature. I would still highly recommend getting both this and LeadRocks. The one thing this has going for it is the industry keyword search.
