Samuel took the Appsumo community for pigeons.
I've been a UseArtemis user since its launch. At launch and during the 1st year, it was too good to be true, with a reported enrichment rate of 60 / 70%, sometimes more. This was due to the fact that he was using the APIs of well-known solutions such as dropcontact, apollo and others. This enabled him to build up a more or less static database based on enrichment by Appsumo customers (win ton win).
There was a major update several months ago, for which Samuel and his staff decided to separate enrichment by their database from enrichment by API (what he now calls email cascade). The “email cascade” function is only available with a paid subscription: a big shot in the arm for appsumo users.
As a result, Appsumo customers now have credits sometimes in the tens of thousands, for a mediocre enrichment rate of around 30%. On top of this enrichment, there are always a certain number of gmail, hotmail, etc. addresses that rot your prospecting list.
I'd like to point out that I've just tested the enrichment on 2 lists and IT SIMPLY NO LONGER WORKS. I don't know if it's a temporary problem (I've contacted support with no response so far), which wouldn't surprise me: it's one of the most buggy pieces of software I've bought from Appsumo.
The chrome extension often bugs, even crashes the browser or causes a disconnection from linkedin. I've just reinstalled it to test it before writing my review (yes, I'm still giving the software a chance), and the information search function simply doesn't work. I haven't tested scraping, which worked fine back then despite a few teething problems.
One last thing: linkedin campaigns were advertised on Appsumo, but this part of the site has totally taken over from the database aspect. I haven't tested the campaigns, because given all the bugs I've encountered since the beginning, I don't trust the security of my linkedin account.
I'm French so it pains me to say it, but this is the worst appsumo purchase I've ever made.
