A: thanks for checking out the site! that one will take a while. what’s coming next is Draper — our AI employee that runs your email end to end, from writing to sending to follow-ups. launching soon, I’ll keep you posted 🙂
Q: Is this an email CRM meaning it sends emails for you like a mailchimp?
Hi so is this an email CRM so you send/receive emails via Utobo email server?

A: Hey Yumeconsults, So utobo is kinda a mini email CRM — you can find new B2B leads (100 free every month), keep all your contacts in one place with lists + tags, and then email them. it’s not a full-blown CRM like Hubspot tho — no sales pipelines or deal tracking. Think of it more like find people → organize them → email them, all in one spot 🙂
Can I use my own SMTP servers like Sendgrid, ElasticMail and MailJet?
Thanks

A: hey there! honest answer — not yet for campaigns and sequences. right now those go out through utobo’s own servers, so you can’t route them through Sendgrid, Mailjet or ElasticMail. the only place your own SMTP plugs in today is as a connected mail account (replies from Unibox + warmup). sending campaigns through your own provider is something we’re working on and should be available in about a...
welcome - my question ... can this be used as an alternative to mailchimp etc - so that I can create a form and get people to sign up

A: Hey Richard, yes — for sending campaigns, newsletters and automations, utobo works as a Mailchimp alternative, and honestly it’s a lot simpler to use. one thing we don’t have yet is signup forms. easy workaround tho — use any free form tool (Google Forms, Tally, etc.) and connect it to utobo through Zapier so signups land straight in your list, or just import them.
Q: Does utobo Email support automated RSS-to-email newsletters?
Hi team, Does utobo Email support native RSS-to-email functionality, allowing us to connect RSS feeds from blogs, news websites, podcasts, or other content sources and automatically populate newsletters with new content?
Specifically:
1. Can we add one or multiple RSS feeds directly to an email newsletter template? 2. Can it automatically pull article titles, images, excerpts, and links into a...

A: Hey Marcus! great questions —thanks for asking them. Here’s where we’re at:
6th first, because it’s the good news: API, webhooks and MCP are all live today. full REST API (plus SMTP + official SDKs), outbound webhooks for every event, and an MCP connector so you can literally run utobo from Claude (we are in the connectors list already).
1–3. RSS-to-email — we’re building this natively,...
Hi Raj, that sounds great! I will use the API key to sync with my SaaS site. A couple of last things: what do you mean by "Sequences"? Also, regarding privacy: does your team or development team have any access to my emails?
hey Marcus — fair to push on it. that’s how any hosted service works: someone has to run the infrastructure. We keep it tight — your data is isolated per account at the database level, encrypted at rest and in transit, mailbox credentials sit in an encrypted vault, API keys are hashed, and 2FA is available. nobody on our side opens your account unless you’ve asked us to look at a specific problem.
Thanks, Raj. Standard encryption with team DB access is a dealbreaker since we handle highly sensitive emails. Other platforms solve this via Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) or Client-Side Encryption, where only the client holds the decryption keys and your infrastructure team sees nothing but ciphertext.
Hey Marcus — really appreciate you spelling this out. we don’t have BYOK yet but if it matters for teams like yours it’s something we’d seriously look at building. Quick ask so I understand it properly: which email platform are you using (or have seen) that does this, and how does it work in your setup? that’d help us scope it right 🙏
Appreciate your openness! Have you considered client-side, zero-knowledge encryption, like Proton Mail or Tuta? Customers retain control of their decryption keys, while your servers store only encrypted data. This could significantly improve privacy for contacts and campaigns, though automated sending and AI processing would need separate safeguards. Is this on your roadmap?
Appreciate your feedback here! My friend doesn't stop praising Proton Mail now I know why. you’re right — this is worth doing for both sending and receiving. it’s on our priority list to build, and I’ll update you as we make progress 🙏
Ok, I normally doesn't do this, but I made an order to support you. I hope you will implement the security solutions I shared so I can one day make use of it.
Great, and happy for the respond, ref: "Appreciate your feedback here! My friend doesn't stop praising Proton Mail now I know why. you’re right" 😉 I know what I'm talking about. Happy to assist. I'm looking forward..

with all the data hacking, this would be an important direction if you want to be taken seriously and mostly survive
