Feels half-baked, a bit like a public beta
I really wanted to love Vectera based on the glowing reviews I read here, but my first impressions are... fairly underwhelming.
First, after replacing the Vectera logo with my own, my logo is about 60% smaller than theirs on my booking page, in fact, it is so small that it is difficult to see. I guess this is due to the size ratio of my logo, but I'm still confused as to why my logo can't occupy the same amount of space as their own. Seems odd. Having to reformat or create a new logo just to make it properly visible on my booking page is a bit... frustrating.
Next, after creating a couple of "appointment types" to be enable bookings by current and prospective clients, and seeing the way they looked on my public booking page, I changed my mind and decided I didn't want to offer one of the appointment types I created, and wanted to rearrange the others.
Unfortunately, there isn't any ability to rearrange or delete appointment types -- once you've created appointment types in Vectera, they are on your public booking page in the order you've created them, and you cannot change that order, nor can you delete appointment types or recreate them to change the order!
Although Oliver was very friendly and offered to do this for me on the back-end, it was made fairly clear during our chat the the scheduling component of Vectera is an afterthought and that they do not have any ETA on the ability to rearrange or delete your own meeting types, but instead advised me that I might need to wait for BLAB integration, which they're "aiming for November" but are also dependent on the BLAB team for.
When I asked if no one had previously asked for the ability to manage appointment types in 3 years of operation, Oliver candidly told me that they've "been working on Vectera since 3 years indeed, but have released it officially by the end of 2018."
So, indeed the tool / service is really only ~9 months out of development.
In the end, Oliver seems very nice, and receptive to feedback, but I'm not convinced that the tools has really undergone much testing, which concerns me not only because of the appearance of the booking pages, but also because I'm no longer confident that the tool will work at scale as well as the sales copy and existing reviews might imply.

May 9, 2024Hi Taylor,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with the community. I’d like to address a couple of points here like we discussed in chat.
Our core and main focus is client meetings and videoconferencing. We devote most of our testing and reviewing time to the meeting rooms for that reason. Scheduling was added not too long ago to improve workflows - which we believe it already does :).
It’s maturing quickly and we’ve got a lot of UX improvements on the roadmap like being able to order your appointments to your own preference. Many of them have been suggested by the AppSumo community as well, to which we’re very grateful.
Since Vectera is software, it’s continuously in development. It has been since 2016 and still is. About a year ago, we concluded Vectera was mature enough to launch it to the public and we’ve been building on it ever since.
I do hope you get the chance to test the meeting rooms as you did with scheduling and look forward to your feedback.
All the best,
Oliver
